Barcelona are reported to be showing an interest in Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk and could make their move at the end of the season. Van Dijk is without doubt one of the best central defenders in world football after making the switch to Anfield from Southampton, and his form has not gone unnoticed.
It, therefore, comes as no surprise that Barcelona are showing an interest in him and are watching developments closely, with a view to possibly launching a bid at some point.
Barca are said to be in the market for a new central defender and the Netherlands international is high on their wanted list.

However, they face a battle to get him on board as Liverpool will have no interest in cashing in on one of their star players, so are likely to knock back all interest in him.
The 28-year-old is a rock at the back and has also chipped in with eight goals in 79 appearances, playing a key role in helping them win a sixth European Cup last season.
Even if Liverpool did decide to cash in, Barca would not have a clear run at him and would face competition from elsewhere.
Real Madrid are also said to be unhappy with their options in central defence and will also make a move if given any signs of encouragement. Van Dijk would command a huge transfer fee but both clubs would have the money to pull off such a deal.
