Barcelona injury crisis deepens as Jules Kounde has been ruled out of the team’s El Clasico clash against Real Madrid on October 28 at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
Kounde sustained an injury in Barcelona’s 2-2 draw with Granada on Sunday, October 7 at Los Carmenes.
Bryan Zaragoza scored a brace for Granada while Lamine Yamal and Sergio Roberto levelled the scores for the Catalans.
Kounde was forced off the pitch in the 44th minute after sustaining the injury. He was replaced by Ronald Araujo.

Kounde’s injury diagnosis has been revealed to be a sprain in the internal lateral ligament in his left knee.
According to the team’s X handle, he will be out of action for a period of five weeks.
Asides the Real Madrid game, the 24 year old is expected to miss Laliga fixtures against Athletic Club, Real Sociedad and the UEFA Champions League double header against Shakhtar Donetsk. He could also miss the Laliga clash with Alaves.
He has already pulled out of Les Bleus (the Blues) of France’s squad to face Holland and Scotland in Euro 2024 qualifiers.
He is now sidelined with injury alongside Polish striker Robert Lewandowski and Netherlands midfielder Frankie De Jong.
Barcelona won Laliga for the 29th time in their history in the 2022/23 season. They clinched title with 88 points from 38 games finishing 10 points above their rivals Real Madrid who could only get 78 points.
Kounde has scored once in nine Laliga appearances for the Blaugrana this season.
Barcelona are currently placed third on the Laliga table with 21 points after nine games.
They will face Athletic Club on Sunday, October 22 at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
