Leon Balogun scored, bagged an assist as Cyriel Dessers was also on target in Rangers’3-0 win against Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday.
Both Balogun and Dessers came off the bench to score in stoppage time and help Rangers seal the win.
Hamza Igamane gave Rangers the lead on 13 minutes before Balogun made it 2-0 in the 93rd minute.
Balogun then turned provider as he set up his Nigerian teammate Dessers for the third goal in the 97th minute.
Rangers took their points tally to 47 and are 13 points off champions and league leaders Celtic in the league table.

The New coach must bring back Balogun and not listen to critics because he’s the missing piece in the SE defence due to technical displays and awareness level. NFF must do away with various rift with the players and go for the best players in other to see us qualify for the World Cup.
Wow, what a goal. Dessers is a complete striker. This is why I never give up on him.
Eric Chelle needs a striker like Dessers in these crucial World Cup qualifiers. Players can keep their ideas of reasoning and their heads cool when the pressure is on.
A striker who fears no team and is always ready to cause damage to his opposition teams.
Kolawole needs our prayers. He needs to pray for Luck and a breakthrough. Only a few strikers can score such a goal in the world of football.
Upon not getting playing time, he is a very sharp fit and ready to play. How I wish Eric Chelle could see the goal of Dessers today. Bravo to Dessers.
However, no doubt about Balugun’s capabilities. He is very experienced and has what it takes to be among the players of the Super Eagles for the World Cup. Since Balogun and Ekong have played together in the past, it will be much easier to pair them together for the World Cup because we don’t have time to rebuild the team while our World Cup qualifiers start in March this year, if I’m not mistaken.
Chelle should not look at anybody’s face. He should select the players that will fit into his team and philosophy.
Lasting, I hope the NFF won’t impose local players on Chelle. I read somewhere that he would include local players in the World Cup qualifiers team. If that is true then NFF won’t let Eric Chelle succeed.
Eric Chelle should stand his ground. He should remember that Nigerians will not call NFF’s name when a thing goes wrong, but his name will be the no 1 on the list, followed by NFF.
All in all, we need our best players for the World Cup qualifiers shikena. Kudos to Balugun and Dessers. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
You must stop putting undue pressure on the new National coach as you always do this to the detriment of Nigeria football in the past. Every considerable opportunities has been extended to Dessars in the past. He always come out short. If he were to come now, as you are suggesting, whom will he bench? He can score many goals as he wants for his Club, the fact of the matter is, how many goals has he scored for Nigeria? None.
Aside Osimhen who’s playing the NO9 and scoring, can you mention another player that makes better sense aside Osigoal? Until then Dessers still has a chance as rightly pointed by Omo9ja.
