The duo of Leon Balogun and Cyriel Dessers were awarded very good ratings after helping Rangers win the Scottish League Cup title on Sunday.
A James Tavernier’s 76th minute goal saw Rangers defeat Aberdeen 1-0 to clinch a record-extending 28th League Cup title win.
Both Balogun and Dessers played for 90 minutes and gave good accounts of themselves.
In the ratings done by Scottish media outfit, The National, Balogun and Dessers each got seven out of 10.
Commenting on Balogun’s performance, The National wrote:“Defended well up against Bojan Miovski and used his pace to beat his opposite number on several occasions. Missed a big chance in the penalty box with 20 minutes to go.”

Also for Dessers: “Led the line reasonably well for Rangers. Had a big chance to open the scoring on 60 minutes but failed to find the key finish. Would have been hoping to build on his goal scored in midweek vs Betis.”
Balogun has now won his third major title at Rangers.
The 35-year-old was a member of the Rangers squad that won the Scottish Premiership in the 2020/21 season and the Scottish Cup in the 2021/22 campaign.
While Dessers landed his second major trophy following his triumph in the Belgian Cup with Genk in 2021.
