Well done to Balogun. The Super Eagles dependable defender is really rolling back the years in Wigan.
He looks sharp, focused, hungry and ready for the fight. It is almost as is it will affect him personally if Wigan gets relegated!
Rating him for yesterday’s match, Paul Kendrick writing for Wigan Today wrote: “Balogun: 8 – Has slotted into the side seamlessly and now impossible to imagine the backline without him.”
There was a time when it was impossible to imagine the Super Eagles backline without Balogun. But inactivity at Brighton cost him dearly in national colours.
Now that the Berlin-born Yoruba-man has started playing again, it will be a bit difficult to imagine the resurrection of the one time formidable Oyinba wall in the heart of the Super Eagles defence owing to stiff competition from Omeruo, Ajayi and others.
