Laliga outfit FC Barcelona are eyeing a deal for Villarreal midfielder Alex Baena in the the subsequent transfer windows.
Barcelona are on the lookout for young talents and Baena is certainly a rising figure in the European circuit.
Baena burst on to the scene last season scoring 12 goals and notching six assists in 48 games for the Yellow Submarines.
He is said to possess excellent vision, a good passing ability and a blazing shot as well.
According to Mundo Deportivo he recently signed a long term deal with Villarreal that ties him to the club till 2028. His release clause is €60 million.
Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez is reportedly keen on the 22 year old . Pedro’s constant injuries are also a factor in the transfer of Baena.
Baena has tallied up one goal and two assists in four Laliga matches this season.
The Yellow Submarines have three points from four league games this season and they are in 15th position.
Barcelona are third on the league table with 10 points after the first four games.
