Former Olympic Eagles Goalkeeper, Emmanuel Babayaro, and onetime Super Eagles midfielder, Etim Esin, have been handed different roles in a 10-man management team of Ben Akwuegbu FC, Completesports.com reports.
Ben Akwuegbu FC will make their debut in the third-tier Nigerian league, Nationwide League One, NLO, after successfully acquiring a slot in that category of the nation’s football league system.
Completesports.com checks reveal that while Babayaro was handed the Consultant Director role, Etim ‘Maradona’ Esin will function as Chief Scout.
The Management Committee which has club financier and former Super Eagles striker, Ben Akwuegbu as President, has Ishaya Pam as Vice President.
Rotimi Adeniji was appointed as the General Manager with Tajudeen Disu as Psychologist and Sam Pam Jr as Technical Adviser.
Similarly, Auwalu Adamu was named as Team Manager, and Patrick Ngwaogu, a veteran Sports journalist and former FCT FA Vice Chairman as a Consultant, Media.
Ngwaogu recently stepped down from his Sporting Director role at Abia Warriors, a Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, side.
The appointments were confirmed by the club’s President, Ben Akwuegbu, who spoke to Completesports.com from his base in London.
“This is a young club daring to a new height in the nation’s football league.
So, we need all the best hands we can to drive the project through,” Akwuegbu told Completesports.com.
“The good thing is that they are all based in Jos, where the club is also based and this is good for team bonding and enhancing effective administration.
“Interestingly, all the management committee members have received their appointment letters.”
