Khouma Babacar has been given the green light to leave Sassuolo with Leganes and SPAL understood to be keen on the Senegalese forward. Babacar, 26, is no longer in the plans of Sassuolo boss Roberto De Zerbi, despite scoring seven goals in 29 Serie A appearances last term.

SPAL look set to offer the ex-Fiorentina striker a chance to remain in Italy’s top flight after their head coach Leonardo Semplici confirmed his interest in Babacar a few days ago.
However, it is thought that La Liga outfit Leganes are currently in pole position to do a deal as they are the only club to have made a concrete offer for the player. Sassuolo have not yet accepted the bid and negotiations are set to continue.
