Mainz forward Taiwo Awoniyi is set to miss two Bundesliga games after sustaining a serious injury in Sunday’s home clash against Augsburg, reports Completesports .com.
Awoniyi hit Augsburg’s Felix Uduokhai’s head in the 17th minute of the encounter and crashed on the pitch.
The 22-year-old was then taken straight to Mainz University Medicine, where he was diagnosed with a severe concussion.

The Liverpool loanee will now miss Wednesday’s clash against Borussia Dortmund and the match against Werder Bremen on Saturday.
Mainz are battling relegation as they are only three points above the drop zone with 31 points from as many matches.
Awoniyi has scored once in 12 league appearances for the club this season.
