Taiwo Awoniyi scored in his fifth league goal in his sixth appearance for Royal Excel Mouscron who beat Lokeren 1-0 in a Belgian League clash on Saturday reports Completesports.com.
Awoniyi grabbed the match winner for Royal Excel Mouscron in the 52nd minute thirty minute after he was cautioned for a foul.
The goal took Awoniyi’s tally to 14 for Royal Excel Mouscron in 36 appearances.
The Liverpool forward enjoyed a successful year on loan with the club last year, scoring eight league goals (nine across all competitions) as Mouscron narrowly avoided relegation.
So far this season, Mouscron have won every match since re-signing Awoniyi to nearly double their points tally and move up to 10th place in the Jupiler Pro League – securing their place in the division next season as a result.
Imoh Ezekiel played for 73 minutes for Kortrijk who spanked Waasland-Beveren 6-2.
The 25 year old Ezekiel who was replaced for Teddy Chevalier has scored once in 17 league games.
In England, Wilfred Ndidi was cautioned for the fifth time this season as Leicester City lost 4-1 at home to Crystal Palace. Wilfried Zaha scored two second-half goals as Crystal Palace claimed an impressive win at Leicester to ease their relegation worries.
Michy Batshuayi and Luka Milivojevic also netted either side of the break while Jonny Evans struck for Leicester. Victory means the Eagles climb to 13th and Leicester, who are now six league games without a win, remain 12th.
Ndidi’s compatriot, Kelechi Iheanacho came on for Youri Tielemans in the 74th minute of the defeat. The 22 year old Iheanacho is yet to score a goal for Leicester City in 17 league games.
In Italy, Ola Aina saw 90 minutes of action for Torino who beat Atalanta 2-0.
Aina has played 22 League games for Torino this season and has scored once.

Meanwhile, Awoniyi is set to displace Iheanacho in the Super Eagles.
According to this article, Awoniyi has scored five goals in six league appearances while the much idolized Iheanacho has zero goals in 17 appearances.
Sentiments aside, Awoniyi is the man of the moment
I think the trio of Junior Ajayi, Awoniyi and Osimhen should be brought jn to replace Iheanacho and Success. I feel sad cos Iheanacho isnt living up to all the promises. Also am equally worried about Chukwueze who was said to be the prince of Villareal but today hes not even making the matchday squad at all. I guess its cos Villareal is seeking to avoid relegation and dont want to be trying new legs in that process. I tjink Chukwueze has a lot to offer and should still be in Villarreal and Super Eagles.
3 to replace two? lol. However, lets see if the sacking of the Leicester coach today brings a change in fortune for Kelechi Iheanacho. he will surely be motivated to show his new coach what he can do. still there are enough options to give him time to find himself. Somehow I think Ajayi might not make it this time as Ighalo is a sure banker for the next call up alongside Awoniyi and Osimhen, but there is still time for Ajayi to prove (or is it redeem himself) to the management of the SE. However, one of the trio will probably be dropped down to the under 23s
Form is temporary, class is permanent.
We need to get our best legs ready for the AFCON in June.
Taiwo has done enough over the last couple of months to get a look in from national team handlers, I hope he gets a deserving invitation for the dead rubber game against Seychelles and Egypt’s friendly next month.
Taiwo has been touted as the new Rasheed Yekini, who shares his predatory instincts in some way.
@Simon, I didn’t say anything of the sort, you must be mixing me up with someone else.
Yes, Awoniyi is the man of the moment and firing on all cylinders, pushing Osimhen hard. Victor responded today with his first goal in a while and both made the premiership player of the week in the Belgian league last week.
It seems both Awoniyi and Kingsley madu have made the most of the January transfer window as the leftback who has joined Godwin Saviour at Roeselare is now an ever present in the side and even popped up with a goal last week.
Another two who are contenders for “transfer of the month” are Awaziem and Okechukwu Azubuike who joined Rizespor and have been producing massive stats with man of the match, team of the week as well as goals, last man clearances as well as goals in the Turkish premier week.
The duo of Chukwueze and Success have struggled to find game time. Isaac with injury and Samuel with his coach preferring “more experienced hands” in their bid to escape relegation. Sam did see game time today in a subdued performance.
Another who should certainly be getting more attention now is Iyayi Believe Atiemwen who recently joined Croatian champions Dinamo Zahgreb and popped up with a goal from his usual Attacking midfield role. He left from HNK Gorica where his team mates Mohammed Musa and Godfrey Oboabona will surely be missing him.
All in all some great moves topped with fantastic performances in February as a result
I wonder how super eagles will line up ,all our players are all doing well and Moses Simon is back on fire now for Levante, many guy will be on the bench chai
