Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi believes he has done enough to earn an invitation to the Super Eagles, reports Completesports.com.
Awoniyi, 22, has represented Nigeria at U-17, U-20 and U-23 level but is yet to make an appearance for the Super Eagles.
His former team-mates at youth level, Kelechi Iheanacho, Francis Uzoho and Isaac Success have all featured for the Super Eagles.

Iheanacho and Uzoho were part of Nigeria’s squad to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
“I’m happy for [Kelechi] Iheanacho and Uzoho because they are deserving of the opportunity,” Awoniyi told BBC Sport.
“Personally, I feel like I deserve a chance. I recall when I was playing well and scoring goals in Belgium. Nigeria had a friendly game and I thought I had done enough to get a look in that would hopefully enhance my quest for a UK work permit, but I was overlooked.
“You begin to understand that it’s not something you can control or have power over. You just need to enjoy what you do and keep on working hard.”

He needs to work so hard . He needs to see that there are guys who are so hungry to make it to the team .apart from Oshimen , look at guys like Dessers, Simy Nwankwo who just scored 20 goals , or is Emmanuel Dennis or Maja or Tolu Arokodare et Al. Asoniyi has got to buckle up seriously.
Tolu needs to leave Latvia before even having before dreaming for a call up
I don’t know what this guy really want. Let me be sincere to you Awoniyi, with the quality of strikers we have now including those doing well that have not even gotten the chance, if S.E is divided into three different S.Es, with your present form, you will not make any of the squad as a striker. My fellow S.Es fans, let us take a look at Moses Simon who is naturally a wiger, but was converted to a striker in his club, look at the goals and assist. Which coach will choose Awoniyi ahead of Moses.
My candid advise, Awoniyi go and work harder not hard because statistics shows that the strikers we have now you are not even in number 7 in the packing other base on form and goals
Days have gone when it’s just phone call to get a call up, if you have to play for super eagles, you have got to prove it… this guy should concentrate in his club football and work harder to get a call up… as for now, he knows he has no place even in the bench role in super eagles..

Sure@Empire. Its amazes me how Awoyini goes about seeking cheap popularity through the media. Them go chop ur money tire. Best thing do ur talking on the pitch. And the fans will raise alarm in ur support if u are not invited. For now you are far behind Dessier, Simy , Dennis, Maja and boy that plays for pertizan Belgrade. So no place for you in S.E.even for third eleven bench
That boy Tolu Ako……. is definitely a SE in the making. Has all the ingredient. Just has to allow his soup cook nicely. His time is not too distant away.
If he doesn’t leave LATVIA, He cannot even smell the bench! Let him leave LATVIA first then prove himself in a more glamorous league before we can talk about him being a future Super Eagle
Sure@ Chairmanfemi. He is to go to a better league to prove his quality, reason I went metaphoric about his soup thing.
I have told u several times to stay off the media and concentrate on uping ur game u won’t hear. What really makes u think u deserve a call up? U think as a striker scoring one goal in 20 matches qualifies u to earn a call up? It doesn’t work that way again. U need to work hard to earn an invite. Take a look at your mates (kele, osimhen, chukwueze) and know what to do to yourself. Nnyenyenyenye…. See ur mouth. Stay off the media and work on urself, let your performance speak for u.
