Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem is on the verge of linking up with Spanish club, Leganes from FC Porto, Completesports.com reports.
Awaziem has been courted by a number of European clubs following his superlative displays for the Super Eagles at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Completesports.com however scooped from a reliable source close to the versatile defender, that CD Leganes have won the race for his signature with the player expected to sign a five-year contract with the club.
Awaziem’s arrival at Leganes will increase the number of Nigerians at the club to two following Kenneth Omeruo’s permanent switch from Chela’s on Tuesday.
Awaziem joined Porto in 2014 and rose through the ranks, making his senior debut in a league game against CD Feirense in January 2016.
Overall, the 22-year-old made 10 league appearances for Porto, struggling to nail down a regular shirt.
He also spent time on loan in France and Turkey with Nantes and Caykur Rizespor respectively.
