The Elegbata Sports Complex in Lagos was agog with music and entertaining football over the weekend when team Bluebloods took on team Kingmakers as Nigeria’s most enterprising bookmaker BetKing, celebrated its second year anniversary with a family novelty match.
Team Bluebloods consisting of staff of BetKing was a statement to the ideology of the brand that its commitment to royalty and loyalty was unquestionable, this ideology was also demonstrated in the name of the opposing team, Kingmakers comprising of Agents who are partners with the brand in enthroning Kings in the land.
The occasion was graced by the King himself ex-Nigerian international Austin JJ Okocha who was at hand to get the ball rolling at kick-off. The Nigerian Superstar has been the brand ambassador for BetKing from its launch back in 2018. He took to his social media page to congratulate the brand for a job well done in such a short period of time in the Nigerian market.

The first half of the match ended in a goalless draw after some beautiful and hilarious display of skills from both teams. However, Orji scored late in the second half of the game to give team Bluebloods the lead, but the teams’ jubilation was short lived as Adinnu struck a beautiful short that ended at the back of the net in the last minute of the game to equalise for team Kingmakers. The game was decided by a penalty shootout which produced an unlikely hero in the person of Gabriel, the goalkeeper of team Bluebloods who save two of the opposing team’s shots to hand his team the trophy.
Speaking to All Sports Prediction after the match, Mr. Gossy Ukanwoke, a director in the company said, “It is amazing to be able to look back and see that we have been in business for the past two years and also been there for Nigerians as a brand providing entertainment, providing a way for people to engage in the sport that they love, like football, basketball, and other games they invest their time on.
