The third edition of the community marathon series tagged Asaba 10km road Race saw a repeat of the first edition and second edition winner repeating his winning feat.
Ishmael Sadjo of Cross River state made it back to back victories in the third edition of the
Community Marathon Series which took place over the weekend in Asaba.
Sadjo breasted the tape first in the male category of the Asaba 10km Road race with a time of 33mins, while Rose Akusho of Plateau State won the female category with a time of 38min.

Sadjo and Rose, who were listed as elite runners, after the success they recorded at the Festac and Lekki 10km road race, took the lead from the 2km spot of the race and held on to claim a cash prize of Five Hundred Thousand naira each
In the male category, Omoro Promise emerged as the first runner-up while Okechukwu Donatus bagged the second runner-up position.
Rose Akusho of Plateau State picked the ultimate prize in the female category in a time of 38 minutes 24 seconds, while the second and third position went to the duo of Patience John Goyang of Plateau State and Abiye David James of Ondo State.
The race which featured athletes from all over Nigeria was keenly contested from the start of the event up till the closing stages.

Some of the athletes, who suffered exhaustion during and after the race, were given medical attention by a medical team from The Nigeria Red Cross Headed by Mr. Philip Ibonye, Secretary of The Red Cross society, Oshimili South, Delta State..
Project director of the Marathon Series, Moses Nwanze, commended all the athletes who registered for the Asaba 10km Road race. He also had good words for those who competed in the non-competitive Category.
