Mikel Arteta has equaled Arsene Wenger’s Champions League feat after Arsenal edged Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 on matchday 3 at the Emirates on Tuesday.
An own goal by Shakhtar goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk in the 29th minute gave Arsenal their second win in three games played.
By not conceding against Shakhtar, Arsenal have kept a clean sheet in three consecutive Champions League games for the first time since November 2007 under Wenger.
Also, the Gunners have now conceded just one goal in their last six group stage/league phase matches.
Arsenal now move up to fourth place on seven points in the 36-team Champions League table.
Meanwhile, the Gunners suffered another injury as defender Ricardo Calafiori went off after hurting his knee.
