Former Nigerian forward, Nwankwo Kanu has condemned the decision of former Arsenal manager, Unai Emery to have sanctioned the sale of Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi to Everton.
Iwobi was sold to Everton in 2019 in a fee worth around £30million after failing to nail a starting shirt with the Gunners.
The Nigerian international before his departure away from the London club had netted 15 goals in 149 appearances for Arsenal.
Reacting to a question from Metro Uk on the sale of Iwobi to Everton, the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist, stated that it was a big mistake for the club to have allowed Iwobi to leave the club.
“I was surprised they let Alex Iwobi go when they did,” Kanu, speaking to Ladbrokes at its launch of the 5-A-Side Bet on Arsenal v Everton, said, according to Metro UK.
“He was supposed to be a part of this team and I think they’d be a better team with him in it. He’s Arsenal blood and he’s always given his all for the team.
“He plays at an international level. I believe he’d be much more comfortable in this Arsenal team than he is in the Everton team.”

U mean iwobi. Occasional flashing. He shud go to French league for fitness training. Den come back to premiership later.
You funny guy. Because Iwobi scored only 1 goal all season so that is y he is occasional flash. The guy need to sit up sha.
I like watching teams like Barca, Arsenal and Ajax play football. Their passing game is a pleasure to watch. The players receive the ball, look up, and make a pass. The pass is their most dangerous offensive weapon.
Iwobi was developed at Arsenal to be this type of player. He dribbles when necessary, but it’s his quick, intelligent passing that does the most damage. I agree that Arsenal suits Iwobi’s game better. But under Ancelotti, Iwobi is adding new things to his game, like increased stamina and physicality.
So while I also prefer that Iwobi was at Arsenal, the fact is Arsenal considered him surplus to requirements, and sold him. Now, it is obvious they made a mistake, and still need him. Arsenal’s loss is Everton’s gain.
Well said Pompei.
Mehn! Chidera Ejuke may not be scoring too many goals in russia but he definitely schooling players in the russian league on how to dribble players. Hes videos from the current season are similar to chukwueze’s videos. Only difference being he attacks from the left and sammy attacks from the right.
I really had high hopes for this guy in the Super Eagles. I thought he would be a mainstay in the team by now but it hasn’t worked out yet. But there is still time for him. Hopefully he will begin to churn OUT wonderful performances, scoring lots of goals as well and will get a re-invite to the National team.
IWOBI, PICK UP YOUR GAME!
He is selfish that’s why, and dribbles needlessly and doesn’t bring his teammates into play, that’s where any coach would prefer onyekuru cuz he is very technical n unselfish
Are you saying Alex Iwobi is a poor player. The coach at Everton is not using him well so Iwobi is not bad.
Iwobi should sit up. He is just average at Everton, after 1 good performance he will be simple in the other. If he continues like this he will end up in Turkey.
It really baffles me to read comments condemning Ejuke’s dribbling. Maybe I m not getting the point. We should rather be happy he Ejuke has got that very rear skill, which comes handy in games involving teams that are so well organized in defence. Your passing passing game will only amount to flogging a dead horse in that situation. Players like Ejuke, Lookman, Wazzler dazzler Chuzzy etc will create unbearable panick for that ultra dead horse defence. That boy Ejuke is a bomb and belongs to our, our bommmmmmmb squaaaard… Just let him be, so we sure we’ be got a weapon to explode in opponents defence face.
