Arsenal have held preliminary talks with Hugo Ekitiké’s camp about a potential move for the Eintracht Frankfurt striker in this summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old French striker has scored 13 goals in 25 games this season for Frankfurt.
His goals has helped his side to the current fourth spot in the Bundesliga League table.
He has a market value of £35 million and there has been interest from other Premier League clubs including Liverpool and Chelsea.
The signing of a number nine is a top priority for the Gunners this summer who habe had to use midfielder Mikel Merino as a makeshift forward no thanks to injuries to Bukayo Saka, Ganriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz.
While Martinelli has returned to action, Saka is close to getting back to action.
As for Jesus and Havertz they are both ruled out of the season.
