Arsenal legend Paul Merson has praised Alex Iwobi for his impact since his arrival at Everton and further stated that the winger has made the Toffees a better team, reports Completesports.com.
Iwobi linked up with Everton on transfer deadline day and has made instant impact at the Goodsion Park, scoring two goals in his first three appearances for the Merseysiders.
The Nigeria international scored on his full debut, a 4-2 Carabao Cup away win against Lincoln City and was also in target in the 3-2 Premier League win against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
“Everton have a chance too if they can get themselves going,” Merson told the Daily Star.
“Getting beaten by Villa was a blessing in disguise. I think it woke a few players up.
“Marco Silva changed his team after that and it’s starting to click. They’re a better team now with Alex Iwobi and Moise Kean. Both have to play. If he sticks with it they won’t be miles away.
Merson also believes Everton can break into the top six this season at the expense of Premier League rivals Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham.
Everton have also enjoyed a promising start to 2019/20 season, losing just one of their opening four games to sit sixth during the first international break of the season.
