Arsenal have formally activated the buy option for Spanish goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed this on his X on Monday.
According to Romano Raya is now an Arsenal player on permanent deal for £27m as planned; it was already decided and now completed.
He added that formal statement will follow but all done for Raya as key part of Arsenal project.
On 15 August 2023, Raya completed a season-long loan move to Arsenal.

Arsenal paid £3 million to complete the loan deal, which has a purchase option of £27 million.
As part of the deal, Raya signed a two-year contract extension with Brentford, which also includes a club option for an additional 12 months.
On 17 September, he made his debut as a starter for Arsenal against Everton at Goodison Park, replacing Aaron Ramsdale as Arsenal’s starting goalkeeper.
