Arsenal reportedly made a fresh check on £45m-rated Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella against Inter Milan on Friday night. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Gunners had representatives at the Sardegna Arena as Cagliari upset the Nerazzurri with a 2-1 victory.
He put in a strong performance to help his team to victory, but the 22-year-old schemer also missed a late penalty, which he blazed over the bar.

Arsenal were reported to have watched Barella in February when Cagliari played at the San Siro against AC Milan and it seems he is on Unai Emery’s radar for a potential summer swoop.
However, the Gunners will face competition from Inter, Napoli and Chelsea – if they can successfully appeal against their transfer ban.
Barella is a full international with 89 Serie A appearances under his belt, scoring seven goals and adding three assists.
