Arsenal thrashed Crystal Palace 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium, in the early Premier League fixture on Saturday.
It was a return to winning ways for the Gunners, who had failed to win their last four games (four defeats, one draw) prior to the tie with Palace.
A brace from substitute Gabriel Martinelli, a goal each from Gabriel Magalhaes, Leandro Trossard and an own goal by Palace keeper Dean Henderson sealed the win for Mikel Arteta’s men.
The win took Arsenal, on 43 points, up to third place and just two points behind leaders Liverpool.
Gabriel opened the scoring in the 11th minute as he rose highest to head home a cross from Declan Rice.

The Gunners went 2-0 up on 37 minutes from a set piece with Gabriel’s header coming off Henderson and landing inside the net.
In the second half Palace poured forward to reduce the deficit but behind behind 3-0 in the 59th minute.
From a corner kick David Raya launched a counter as he found Gabriel Jesus who laid it for Trossard to slot home.
Arsenal then went 4-0 ahead on 94 minutes thanks to Martinelli off a through pass from Nketiah Nketiah.
The Brazilian, who came on for Trossard, raced on to Nketiah’s pass before curling it beyond the reach of the Palace keeper.
Martinelli then got his second and Arsenal’s fifth on 95 minutes as he once again ran on to a pass this time from Jorginho, before bending it past Henderson.
Arsenal wouldn’t be in action next weekend due to FA Cup fixtures but will be back in action on Tuesday, 30 January when they be guests to Nottingham Forest.
