Arsenal have reportedly moved a step closer to landing left-back Kieran Tierney after agreeing to pay Celtic’s £25m asking price. The Gunners have already had two bids for the Scotland international rejected by the Bhoys and were thought to have walked away from negotiations having been unwilling to meet Celtic’s financial demands.
The Scottish champions are understood to want the £25million fee in one lump, rather than in instalments as Arsenal had initially proposed and the north London outfit are thought to now be willing to agree to a one-off payment.
Despite concerns over Tierney’s fitness following a double hernia operation, Arsenal appear desperate to sign the 22-year-old and reports in Scotland claim that the two parties are close to reaching an agreement. Arsenal are hopeful of completing the formalities over the weekend as they look to wrap up a deal before the transfer window shuts on August 8.
