Marko Arnautovic is reportedly eager to leave West Ham United and return to Italy for a second stint. The Austria international looked to be heading for China in the January transfer window but ended up signing a new long-term contract with the Hammers until the summer of 2023.
However, despite the extension, Manuel Pellegrini is still willing to sell the 30-year-old forward and it is thought bids of around £25million would be accepted by the former Manchester City boss.
Arnautovic is also said to be keen on leaving the London Stadium and returning to Italy, where he had a brief stint on loan at Inter Milan during the 2009-10 campaign. The move could potentially be scuppered, though, following reports the Nerazzurri’s new boss Antonio Conte wants to sign Roma’s Edin Dzeko over the West Ham forward.
With the Hammers set to sign Maxi Gomez from Celta, who are ready to sell after signing Gabriel Fernandez in preparation for the summer window, an exit for Arnautovic appears to be on the cards.
