Joe Aribo is thrilled with his maiden invitation to the Super Eagles and has promised to give his best to the team, reports Completesports.com.
The Glasgow Rangers of Scotland midfielder will look to make his debut for the Super Eagles in today’s friendly encounter against Ukraine at the Dnipro Arena.
Aribo has been in fantastic form for Rangers this season following his summer switch from Sky Bet Championship club, Charlton Athletic.
He could be handed a starting berth in the game alongside the trio of Oghenekaro Etebo and Alex Iwobi in midfield with Wilfred Ndidi not available for selection.
”I am really happy to have got this call-up to Nigeria and I just want to make the most of it and play as long as possible and just do what I can for the team and make sure that we continue being the best that we can be,”Aribo stated in a short video interview posted on the Super Eagles Twitter handle.
”I am a central midfielder and I like to get in and around the box. I can defend and I can attack.”

If you are a central midfielder, you have Etebo who plays for a struggling championship side to contend with,i would say because of his lack of ambition you have a chance.Just keep your head up and enjoy yourself you have all the necessary tools to excel at international level with Nigeria. You made a choice and a wise one.
I also want to commend you for acknowledging Ondo as your state of origin, you are indeed a passionate Nigerian and for that recognition you shall be celebrated beyond your imaginations.
AMENNNNNN
_The Super Eagles Fantastic Four_
I saw the NFF video in which the quote above from Aribo was lifted and I have to say that I was uplifted, impressed and delighted with what the Fantastic Four of Aribo, Dennis, Maja, and Okoye said in the clip.
“There is a lot of power; I can’t wait to show all you guys what I am up to”: said young goalkeeper Okoye in quite emphatic, impactful and convincing fashion.
“I play as a centre forward; I like to create chances, score goals and also create chances for the team. So, yes, I am looking forward to the games”: declared England-born Josh Maja – in a vigorous no-nonsense style.
“I am a centre midfielder”: was the way jovial Joe Aribo announced himself in a cool, composed and compact style as the Scotland-based midfielder went on to say: “I like to get in and around the box (to do damage); either box, I can defend as well as attack (with equal ruthless measure)”.
“It’s a massive call up for me; it is a big opportunity for me to improve my football and help the country win trophies”: stated a humble dynamic and dangerous Dennis.
When Liverpool reached the Champions League in the previous season but failed to lift the trophy, Coach Klopp bolstered the squad in key areas like goalkeeping, defense and midfield and what happened? They won the Champions league the next season.
With the invitation of these 4 dynamic, young, positive, hungry and ambitious players across various departments in the squad, Gernot Rohr is perhaps showing intent that he wants to take Nigeria’s football to a whole new level of success.

Interesting video! Expecting to see them play today.
Great job, deo. Looking forward to these guys do their thing in Ukraine today.
Thanks Kel.
This is the part that makes me feel really good as a Nigerian. You can see in the faces of this guys that they were not forced or coerced to be a part of this family.
Now going forward, this is how to make new introduction into a team, inviting to bolster (like deo said )areas u need strengthning and improvement. You don’t just go inviting players cos they are good and playing well just as Omo9ja keep screaming, that is pure sentiment.the focus should be is there a lacuna that needs feeling in the team, are their injuring worries among the regulars. Two best strikes for France in Benzima and Lacasset have not been a part of the team for a long time though the team is growing.Even though Abraham is ahead of the rest of the English strikers per present stats(4 goals in 3 matches)and the fact that there is a contest for him with Nigeria, did not make Southgate to rush to invite him when it is obvious he does not need him.
In the final analysis, we should pls respect the Coaches decisions as they are down to their jobs.
Thanks for the mention, Asoko.
These guys are good and I am happy for their invitation into the super eagles fold. I will be happy to see them perform so well tonight and make us to forget the absence of other key players prior to the match.
I will love to see Iwobi wearing the no.10 Jersey from this night onwards as that will motivate him more to always give out his best for naija.
I will also love CHUKWUEZE to switch his no.13 Jersey for 11 as I believe that he can go on and surpass the record made by Victor Moses with the Jersey no…
I don’t see supers loosing today match. I pray our Olympic team makes us proud tonight.. Ameen.
Thanks Abdul. I also really want Iwobi to take a strangle hold of that number 10 position, make it his, interpret it in ways that suit his playing style in a manner that shows that he continues to improve with every passing game.
I have high hopes for Iwobi as I have a strong conviction that we will soon be talking about it the way that Croatians talk about Luka Modric.
With the 4 fresh faces in the squad and others in the pipeline, Iwobi can now no longer settle for average performances. He needs to raise his game continually to prove that he is the cut above the rest that many of us believe he is.
