Nigeria Football Federation may soon announce former Super Eagles assistant coach Daniel Amokachi as its new Technical Director, to replace Bitrus Bewarang who holds the position presently, Completesports.com reports.
Feelers from the Glass House Secretariat of the NFF indicates that the federation has been in discussion with the former Super Eagles forward and that he would by announced as soon as they finalized terms of service.
“I think the only thing delaying the announcement of Amokachi as the new Technical Director is because both parties have not agreed on the wages and conditions of service for the former AFCON winner. He was picked ahead of two other coaches who also wanted the job,” Completesports.com source divulged.

“We have two other coaches who indicated interest for the job, plus the incumbent technical director who also applied for renewal of his contract, but Amokachi seems the obvious choice. I don’t know why they settled for Amokachi, but I know that the other two have very rich CVs.
“There are other applications for vacant positions in the technical department and the federation is expected to appoint two or three among those who indicated interest.”
Amokachi was recently appointed Nigerian football ambassador by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
Completesports.com further gathered that former Chelsea FC of England and PSG FC of France Technical Director Mike Emenalo, Austin Eguavoen, Ladan Bosso, Sam Okpodu and Mutiu Adepoju are amongt those who showed interest in the job of heading and1 revitalizing the NFF technical department.

I dare NFF to kindly also make public a list of those who applied and were interviewed for the super eagles’assistant coach position…?
According to the highly respected Solace Chukwu’s opinion of Goal.com which is exactly the same sentiments i’ve shared on this forum…..
“……By Odegbami’s own admission back in January, he did “not even know if the great Nigerian football hero (YOBO) is interested in coaching, or if he has acquired a coaching licence”. What then was that recommendation, and this decision, based on?…..”
“….For that matter, even though the former Marseille and Everton man has declared himself “super excited”, there had been little to even indicate he was interested in coaching; there have been positions advertised in the national teams’ set-ups, but he did not throw his hat in the ring for any of them…..”
So we had a CRACK SQUAD of Mike Emenalo, Dan ‘da bull’ Amokachi, Austin Eguavoen, Ladan Bosso, Sam Okpodu and Mutiu Adepoju amongt those who showed interest in the revitalizing our football and even surpass ALL THREE of Ladan Bosso’s so called criteria – of being an ex-international who has played at the highest levels, have coaching badges and have coaching experience – yet went for someone who meets only 1/3 of the criteria…?
A big round of applause to NFF and Chief Odegbami.
The more you look, the less you see.
Congratulations to Da bull Amokachi
@Drey I think we’ll revisit that issue later but let’s congratulate our lengend a round peg in a round hole first
And I think Emenalo should have been the HoD with da bull as assistant would have been better with a very meticulous Eguavoen as head of the technical committee
I concur with @cuteprince but this is Nigeria.

I support this, Nigeria should lean from other football nations, our ex internationals should be draft to verious national teams, am talking about ex internationals from 90s to 94 set. our Nff president should be replace with ex internationals who have played the game both home and abroad.
Let me add that certain percentage if not all the board of the NFF and their affiliate FAs should be:
1. Accomplished ex-internationals of world reput
2. Must have done a course in administration and are certified at least to a Diploma level in either management or administration
3. Must/should have their own private businesses
4.And must declare their Assets before and after leaving office
5.and their salary duly spelt out
Fortunately the job was never vacant. The Man at the helm of affairs, Bitrus Bewarang is also an ex-International and he is very qualified to be there.. Amokachi would have ruined that department I can bet you….
Thank you God for the gift you gave to me. NFF must getting things right this time around. I won’t stop talking until you listen to we patriotic Nigerians.
From Yobo to Amokachi, our ex players are getting closer to the NFF. We needed more of you guys in that place.
However, Super Eagles also needed a new set of goalkeeper trainers before the kickoff of Afcon qualifiers.
Congratulations to Mr. Amokachi in advance. God bless Nigeria!!!
Lol!!Which gift in particular are u talking about? Is it the gift of jonsing around, or the gift of always goofing, or the gift of speaking from the 2sides of your mouth? Pls, I’d like to know…lol
Mike Emenalo should on merit chosen ahead of Amokachi in my opinion.Unless quota system is the criteria used in selecting employees into this offices.Bitrus Bewarang and Amokachie could be from same region so the same epidemic that has been our bane to economic and social growth as a country is still hunting us in this day and age.
Recently, unqualified Yobo was chosen ahead of more qualified unlisted coaches for a position of the assistant coach leaving the head coach vulnerable and in dire need of assistance should he run into crossroads.
The big question is why are we always politicizing every public positions with sentimental attachments?every decision,is stalling our development as a country and our football.
Amokachi’s selection was purely on Politics. He is reaping fruits of his support for APC during 2019 general elections. Emenalo is the most qualified among the applicants, however politics is setting the path here.

Watch to the end, his boys have let the cat out of the bag… Amokachi pressed hard to get to the top.
