Nigeria has clinched a total number of 36 medals at the ongoing 2024 Military Games in Abuja, Completesports.com reports.
The medals came from three sports; wrestling, taekwondo and handball.
The wrestlers won 30 medals ( 11 gold, 12 silver and seven bronze).
Team Nigeria claimed four gold medals in Taekwondo ( Mohammed Yusuf- men’s 54kg, Bisallah Rejoice – women’s 46kg, Ibeh Nancy in women’s 49kg, and Anam Glory in women’s 53kg).
The hosts also dominated the handball event wining gold medal in both men’s and women’s category.

The second edition of the All-Africa Military Games Abuja (AMGA) 2024 was officially launched at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, on Wednesday.
The inaugural AMGA took place over 20 years ago, in Nairobi, Kenya, in April 2002.
The games provide platform for the Armed Forces to compete at an international level, exchange best practices with their counterparts from other African countries.
It would also ensure to build lasting relationships that will contribute to the overall security and stability of the continent.
Athletes from military establishments across Africa are competing in nearly 20 sports, which includes Athletics, Football, Basketball, Golf, Shooting, Judo, Volleyball, Cycling, Handball, Boxing and more.
