Rena Wakama’s side defeated the world number five, 79-70 to become the first-ever African team to win two games and qualify for the quarter-finals in the history of the Olympics.
The African champions defeated world number three Australia in their first game.

D’Tigress however succumbed to a disappointing defeat to host nation France in their second game.
Troost-Ekong took to the social media to celebrate the team’s historic feat.
“Amazing achievement let’s go all the way!,he wrote on X.
The African champions will hope to go a step further by making it to the semi-finals.

How comes nobody is celebrating those girls. Despite being the lowest rank team of all the countries participating yet they defeated world number 3 and 5. Best of luck in the remaining matches ladies
