Former Nigerian international Nwankwo Kanu has advised the Super Eagles players to always give more than they give their club when representing the senior national team.
The Atlanta Olympic gold medalist, in an interview with Brila FM, stated that donning the national jersey is a big pride and honour that most players always crave for.
He, however, urged the Nigerian players to replicate their club for the Super Eagles as well.

“They are very important. They can’t be doing well in their various clubs and then come to the national team they will not do the same. No.
“When you come to the national team you give more than what you give to the clubs. You can’t wear that jersey and be slacking. If you’re giving your club 100%, give us 200%.
“The players need to understand that that we may be talking about coaching all the time but they need to do more. From what I’ve seen in recent matches, they are improving, and they’re getting better,” the 1995 UEFA Champions League winner said.

Thanks for your input Papilo
This issue is very simple, and we have to blame the national team manager.
Eguavoen is very weak when it comes to selecting players based on their qualities, form and capabilities.
Imagine Boniface has not been improving and impressive in the Super Eagles still, his spot is his guarantee while Dessers and Akop did not call to the Super Eagles.
Doing this can never motivate the players. Eguavoen has to create competition in the team. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
