Sam Allardyce has emerged as the favourite to succeed Slaven Bilic and become Semi Ajayi’s new manager at West Brom.
Bilic was today sacked by West Brom 18 months into a two-year contract, despite coming from a goal behind to draw 1-1 at Manchester City last night.
West Brom are 19th in the table having earned just seven points from 13 games, including eight defeats, following automatic promotion back to the top flight as Championship runners up.
Allardyce is hotly tipped to replace Bilic, 52, and could be in the dugout as early as Sunday when the Baggies take on rivals Aston Villa at The Hawthorns.
The 66-year-old, who was in charge of Wanderers for seven and a half years between 1999 and 2007, has been out of work since May 2018 when he left Everton.
Ironically, Bilic replaced Allardyce at West Ham United in May 2015.
