Alaves are reported to be lining up a move for Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic as a possible replacement for Guillermo Maripan. Maripan looks to be heading out of the door this summer following reports he is a target for English Premier League side West Ham United, who are willing to pay £22million to secure a deal.

Alaves will therefore be in the hunt for a new central defender and could use a chunk of the money raised to fund a deal for Simunovic, who is said to want out of the Glasgow side following an injury-ravaged season.
The 24-year-old made just 12 starts last season and reports claim he would jump at the chance of a move to La Liga, which would represent a fresh start for him. He is under contract with the Hoops until 2021 and would cost Alaves in the region of £4million.
