Bayern Munich defender David Alaba says it is an honour to be linked with Barcelona but he claims he is focused on the German club. Barcelona are on the lookout for a new left-back as they try to find more competition for Jordi Alba.

Alaba has been at Bayern since 2010 and has made over 220 appearances in the Bundesliga since graduating from the club’s academy. Former team-mate Mats Hummels has already left to rejoin Borussia Dortmund and reports claim Alaba could soon be on his way out.
However, Alaba says he is flattered but determined to stay at the Allianz Arena. “Of course, it’s an acknowledgement, it’s an honour for me,” Alaba told reporters. “My focus is fully on Bayern here in America and on pre-season. I want to concentrate on the essentials.”
