Akpom Scores In Ajax’s 3-1 Home Win Against Groningen

Chuba Akpom was on target for Ajax in their 3-1 home win against Groningen in the Eredivisie on Sunday.

It is Akpom’s second goal in five appearances in the league this season.

The last time the former Arsenal striker scored was in September in a 5-0 win against Fortuna Sittard.

  • Where exactly is the fairness in Eguaveon’s selection? Let’s break this down. Chuba Akpom has been nothing short of spectacular for Ajax this season, yet he’s not deemed worthy of a Super Eagles call-up? Really? Meanwhile, Taiwo Awoniyi didn’t get a single minute on the pitch today for Nottingham Forest, but somehow he’s considered a better candidate for our upcoming match against Libya. And then there’s Joe Aribo—played the full game for Southampton today, yet he’ll be watching us play Libya from the comfort of his couch. Where’s the logic in that?

And what about Kevin Akpoguma, who has been a defensive rock for Hoffenheim? Somehow, Tanimu, who hasn’t even laced his boots in a competitive match this season, is deemed a better fit for the squad. Are we really saying that a player with no game time is more deserving than someone putting in a solid shift in one of Europe’s top leagues? This trend of rewarding mediocrity while ignoring form and fitness is a recipe for disaster.

It’s not just bad for team morale—it’s a slap in the face to players who are putting in the hard work and performing week in, week out. How are they supposed to stay motivated when they see this kind of favoritism? This sort of imbalance and lack of fairness in selection will destroy the team spirit, erode trust, and discourage those who actually deserve a shot. If we keep this up, we’ll be left with a squad filled with underperformers, while the real talents are left on the sidelines.

Same fairness the people didn’t get in the just concluded Edo election,Imo election where the fourth candidate with almost the least legitimate vote cast was declared winner! The presidential election which was stolen before our on very eyes..The man who won and who Nigerians voted for was told he finished third!
Yet you get some Nigerians supporting this unfairness because of tribe religious or for other reasons. These same people will be the first to call Eguavoen and the NFF names, some may even attack me after reading my post,so my brother we will never get fairness until we start fighting any form injustice whether it affects us or not, whether it’s against our interests or not. What is bad is bad and we as a people should abhor all forms of social vices, because if you support unfairness today tomorrow the system that you actively groomed to be unfair will give you a dose of your medication.

95% of the players in Super Eagles cant even rated as players Ajax Amsterdam will ever attempt to sign… the Dutch know football. AFC Ajax is a club that only signs visible talent and performers… yet one of our own in Akpom is deemed not good enough for Super Eagles… Eguaveon is a shameless consistent failure of a coach… a fraud and opportunist masquerading as coach… a serial failure of a football manager.

  • If Akpom likes, he can score 1,000 goals this season. Dem no go invite am.
It seems to me that the more he scores, the more he’s ignored. Perhaps he should stop scoring. Maybe they will notice that, LOOOOL.
