Semi Ajayi was an unused substitute for West Brom in their 2-0 home defeat to Blackburn Rovers in the Championship on Wednesday.
Ajayi had been out of action since October with a hamstring injury.
January signing Emmanuel Dennis was also benched for Blackburn Rovers.
Makhtar Gueye bagged a brace to help Blackburn Rovers with the win.
Gueye opened the scoring in the 47th minute before adding the second goal on 63 minutes.
Ajayi’s return is a welcome development for the Super Eagles coaching crew ahead of next month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
