Nigeria defender Semi Ajayi has been nominated for Sky Bet Championship Player of the month awards for March, Completesports.com reports.
The Rotherham United who has migrated to midfield role from centre-back, has been in fine form for the Millers recently which has seen him find the net on a number of occasions.
The versatile defender scored five goals in five matches from his midfield position during the month.
Ajayi has been nominated alongside the likes of Emiliano Buendia of Norwich, Pablo Hernandez of Leeds and Sheffield United’s Jack O’Connell.
“Ajayi’s power and will to win were always suited to the transition from central defence to midfield. Less predictable were five goals in five games, three courtesy of prodigious leaps and flying headers, two immaculately timed low shots,” reads a statement on Rotherham United’s official website.
The former Arsenal player has featured in all of Rotherham United’s 41 Championship games this season and scored seven times.
The winner of the award will be announced on Friday, April 12.

We thank GOD for Ajayi. He is ready and ripe for Nigeria now. He must be with the Nigeria National team in Egypt. Thank Rohr for taking note of what Ajayi can bring to the team.
