Awoniyi finds his feet at a critical time. He’s beaten Osimhen to the Belgian team of the week twice in a row (last week and the week before) and it remains to be seen how Victor responds to this challenge. A nice headache to have for Rohr, although I still think that Victor is ahead of him in the reckoning owing to a consistency over a longer period of time in the Belgian premier league. Whomever misses out in the AFCON dead rubber against the Seychelles and the friendly against Egypt should be good for the under 23s.
Good also to see the Rightback/Right wingback in safe hands with Ola Aina whilst it remains to be seen if Tyrone can wrestle the position back from him when he returns from injury this month.
Anthony Nwakaeme is cementing his place in the starting lineup for Trabz with some scintillating displayed balanced out with some average showings and Onyekuru sits as third highest goalscorer in the Turkish premier league.
Finally William Troost-Ekong (6.4 rating) is being pushed all the way by Omeruo, Awaziem (very good showings (7.4 rating)and Turkish team of the week last week) as well as one quietly producing week after week good stats (average rating by whoscored – between 7.2 and 7.4)in La Liga 2 – Derik Oseide with Numancia
Awoniyi scores for the fourth consecutive match and is named in the Belgian team of the week (in an all Nigerian attack alongside Osimhen and Ezekiel) for the third time in five matches.
It’s a good time to be a Nigerian striker as right now Paul Onuachu and Rilwan Hassan are starting together in the Danish premier League for Midtjylland Vs AaB FC
