Flying Eagles head coach, Ladan Bosso believes his side will recover fast from the disappointing loss to Uganda.
The West Africans fell to a 2-1 defeat
against the Hippos at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday night.
Bosso, who cut a disappointed figure after the game is adamant the Flying Eagles will shake off the defeat.
“We would have a positive meeting with the players. It is important that they express themselves,” Bosso said after the game.
“Logically we would have liked to have started (the tournament) in another way, but the players are clear that there are two games ahead that could make so much difference.

“Anyone has the possibility of being a starter – am optimistic the players know what they stand to achieve and the task ahead.
“We talked about football with the group, about how we can improve the mistakes we had and thus move on with a positive mentality.
“We know what we have to do in the upcoming games, which is to go out and look for victory, we are prepared for that
“For every player, being in the national team is a dream, we did not start the way we wanted, but we will continue fighting for that dream that we all have.”
The Flying Eagles will take on South Sudan in their second Group B game at the Accra Sports Stadium next week Monday.

Thus fraud… specialist in players recycling in age grade football… shameless man Ladan Bosso… all he knows about is boasting. Where is Ebube Okere? Where is Precious Williams? Where is Umar Abdullahi? Where is Light Eke?
How you going to bounce back???. A coach that has no single pedigree, but keeps finding himself being selected to handle a National team like the Flying Eagles . Nigeria will continue to struggle to achieve success at age grade competitions if we keep hiring mediocre like Ladan Bosso. He’s a huge fraud
.
This is always the trade mark of Nigerian local coaches. Make a lot of noise b4 a major tournament, but can make an Impact. Away!!with the call for the employment of a local coach

Whatever Bosso does is fine by NFF. He was employed by them. Nigerians have too many things on their minds to be bothered by his team’s antics. Perennial “youth team” coach. Don’t leave when the ovation is loudest
What Bosso Must Do To Succeed In Africa Games
Ladan Bosso has every reason to believe his team can bounce back from the slim and respectable loss to Uganda in their first game of the ongoing Africa Games.
There are glaring areas for improvement which, if addressed, the team can achieve a podium finish in the tournament.
I was left disappointed by the number of crosses the Flying Eagles fullbacks allowed to be delivered. Should Bosso address this then his team will perform better.
The FE goalkeeper is exuberant. He covered himself in glory at times but could have done better for the second goal conceded. He also needs greater protection from the defensive midfield infrastructure.
In front, the FE worked the ball well into offensive areas. They just need to be more incisive. They were rash in taking shots exhibited poor decision making. They also played with inadequate understanding of each other’s movements. Greater coordination and communication up front is required.
Also, Bosso’s boys tend to me more practical than tactical, nothing too bad with this, they just need to lace it up with higher quality deliveries (in a variety of passes).
Positional undiscipline also harmed the Flying Eagles. Bosso’s teams can be organised but they showed inadequate organisation against Uganda. I think they will improve on this against South Sudan.
The strategy to drive to the by-line, cut back with low cross and then shoot at goal was dealt with by Uganda. Again, Bosso brand of football is direct, physical and practical which is predictable but can still work if implemented with a bit more imagination.
Composure let Bosso’s boys down. Already their pattern of play lacks eloquence. Nonetheless, if they keep a cool head in key moments they will make headway in future games.
Their passing routines are neat and, when they leverage their speed and physicality, can be harmful to opponents. But again they need a bit of vision, enterprise and inventiveness to really unlock defences.
And this is where the team failed most against Uganda: the big boys in the Flying Eagles failed to impose themselves in that match. Bosso needs to get his marquee players (Daga, Bamayi etc) firing on all cylinders.
In a nutshell, the Flying Eagles should exercise care when defending, inject variety into their midfield play and exhibit greater composure and better decision up front. The players at Bosso’s disposal can address obvious shortcomings. The coach himself is highly skilled in practical, unimpressive football that combines physicality and positional discipline to attain manageable success.
I see the Flying Eagles improving as the tournament wears on.
** the coach himself, Ladan Bosso, is highly skilled in a physical and at times an unattractive brand of football that combines speed, physicality, attention to positional details and strict adherence to practical rudiments to attain moderate to manageable success in under 20 football. **
Aboki kind of football is what Bosso plays, he will eventually have is way against below average coaches that is why he wobbles through. He is just too unworthy of it to hold on to the u20 post for such a long time.
But this Mugu Arrogantly Stated that Uganda cannot stand in Nigeria’s way. When will Nigerians stop the Boastfulness pre game and do the talking on the pitch I have come to realise that most of our failures as a country starts with arrogance and Mouth and Boastful all adding the Jinx Factor. It is sad that these people dont learn. It is also how we delude ourselves with this Giant of Africa yet making decisions, Actions and calls that will soon make us Ants of Africa if time is not taking
Bosso is a major problem to Nigeria football I pray something happens to him for him to leave our sports alone.
You want him to die or what? Haba, has it got to that? My friend this is football o. Truly I never liked bosso as a coach. He is not really qualified to coach our national team but he is connected to the powers that be.
The only godly wish is that someone should sack him. Maybe that’s what Chima wanted to say
LMAO God will decide what happens to him because NFF will never get rid of him.
I’m from Niger State but I don’t know what NFF see In Coach Ladan Bosso, grass root development zero, trophy Wise zero, diaspora discovering zero
I’m missing Siasia ❤️
Bosso is a good coach. His football is not unattractive,in fact he plays a very good brand of football,I think the time he was given to prepare for an international tournament wasn’t good enough. He had less than two weeks to screen and build a team, yet everyone expects magical football and no one has blamed the nff for not opening camp early enough and play friendlies to correct grey areas in the team, apparently,Bosso played no friendlies leading up to the tournament because there was no time as he barely has a few days of training before the first game was played.
Sometimes,we should be more objective in criticism and look at the primary or root causes of problems.
Bosso is a good coach,I have always loved his team.Though I only saw highlights of the game, from what I saw we created more scoring chances and our team has endeavour,I believe there are other good players on the bench which will get a chance to step in and help improve the team in subsequent games.
We should be patient. It’s only their first game, after the tournament we can assess the coach and his boys, for now let’s give them all the support they need.
Bosso is a destiny killer. He has been killing Nigerian players since 1914.
Check Bosso antecedence , and you will know he is put there based on quota or connected to one high placed person. He has been given this post so many times and has never won anything for the country . The countary has so many coaches scattered all over, why should NFF stick to one person who fails perpectually?
I hve heard alot of Hausa and Fulani people complaining on various platforms that Igbo’s are dominating Super Eagles this is a low key operation to Increase the number of Hausa players scouted to eventually pay for Super Eagles in the event the get good clubs but they want to give Northers most of the opportunities going forward irrespective of talent or not.
One would have thought that a coach would have the time of preparation when he waß boasting he would beat Uganda, this guy is never circumspect in speech, this is unlike football coaches
Greenturf,
To be honest honest, the age old cliché of ‘you can’t give what you don’t have’ applies to Ladan Bosso.
He is not revolutionary, he is not avant gard and he has failed woefully to improve himself.
But, he is orthodox, standard, conservative practical and stagnant.
I like him. I have always seen him as an average mid-table coach which to me is very manageable.
After leading the Flying Eagles to quarter finals in 2007 Under-20 World Cup, he had 16 years to improve on himself only to achieve exactly the same quarter final in 2023 World Cup.
At least he hasn’t regressed.
I achieved Bronze at the 2009 Under-20 Afcon only to achieve the same Bronze in the 2023 edition.
What does that tell us? Ladan Bosso is consistent in being a bang average coach (which I have no problem with).
If the NFF want greater achievement for the Flying Eagles, they should invest in our football infrastructure and also provide world class training facilities for our coaches. Until then me I will manage Bosso.
I laugh when fans butcher Bosso’s credentials, I don’t think he is that bad. Tell me one coach in the history of the Flying Eagles who hasn’t used over-age players. Point out any Flying Eagles coach who has transparent or impartial in team selection. So, many criticisms levelled against Bosso apply equally to almost all other coaches in the history of the Flying Eagles.
At 53 years old, I am praying that Bosso will finally step up his own coaching credentials based on experience and the plentiful opportunities afforded him to coach the Flying Eagles.
He came close to qualifying for the Under-20 Afcon final and reaching the semi-finals of last year’s Under-20 world cup. Perhaps he has learnt a thing or two and can better refine his practical, orthodox methods.
Again, although he is given reasonable opportunity to pick his players, he seems to favour Northern Islamic players. This is just my observation which may prove inaccurate. But should he cast his net farther and wider, I think he can gather quality players to elevate his rudimental system to great heights.
I have enjoyed some of Bosso’s under 20 games notably the win against Argentina last year. But it is time for him to raise his own standard solely on the opportunities made available to him which other Under-20 coaches are not afforded.
Guys pls zero out this Bosso guy, none of his players will ever graduate to the super eagles anyway. Bosso main objectives is to showcase Aboki players to prove to us in the south that Aboki too can ball. I’m not against the man, but we shouldn’t expect any of his of players to wear eagles shirts in the future. For ppl claiming Igbo are dominating super eagles that’s a lie. On merit today we only ve one Igbo solid player Onyeka.
I watched the Senegalese team and also saw their team list at the games.Guess what, they have almost 15 players from their last under 17 team. That is progress.Their goal is not necessarily to win the tournament but for the conveyor belt of player’s development to continue.Winning the gold is a bonus.Heard that at least 10 members of the squad will be included in their Olympic team to Paris to gain international exposure outside africa.6 members of their under 20 to the world cup in Argentina featured in their last dead rubber match against Mauritius. The Sengalese FA have carefully arranged the transfer of their Under 20 and under 17 team members to feeder teams of European teams in France, Switzerland and Denmark. That is planning for future.
For staters, no member of Ugbade highly talented and technically gifted Under 17 team members made Ladan Bosso team.He was not interested. How do we progress if there is no continuity.
In the days of Siasia, Manu and other coaches, you will see one or two northerners. But when you watch them play, you will see that they thoroughly deserve their shirt. But with Bosso, you see about 5 to 6 Northern average players with majority starting and letting him down. That is why he himself have become average.Pl
