Benjamin Tanimu has expressed confidence that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will secure the points despite poor treatment given to players and officials by Libyan authorities.
In a report by the Super Eagles media team, Libyan authorities held Super Eagles, officials hostage at the Al Abaq airport in Al Abaq.
It stated that about an hour to landing, the Nigerian aircraft approaching its destination, Benghazi was diverted to another city more than two hour drive from the original destination.
While at the airport the players were held for more than 10 hours as they were denied exit with no bus to transport them to their hotel.
Commenting on the sad experience Tanimu expressed confidence the Eagles will still emerge winners.
Tanimu wrote in pidgin: “Libya una well done .
“But we go still collect our point,no matter wetin una go do.” which translates to mean “We will still get the three points no matter what you do.”
As at the time of writing this report it is gathered that the players and officials were still held at the airport.
