Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong says the team is ready to face their former head coach, Gernot Rohr and his Benin Republic team again.
Nigeria will entertain the Cheetahs in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday one tie at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Saturday.
Rohr, who managed the Super Eagles in the past masterminded Benin Republic’s 2-1 victory over their neighbours in June.

Troost-Ekong reckoned the Frenchman have deep knowledge of the Super Eagles but insisted the result will be different this time around.
“We’re ready for the game, playing against Gernot Rohr, a coach that knows us very well, was with us up to five years but we’ll be ready for the game,” Troost-Ekong told reporters in Uyo.
The centre-back however said that the players must be ready to do their best on the pitch.
“I think it is our job. The coach adds to the team and organize the team but the responsibility is the players,” added the Al-Khaloood of Saudi Arabia defender.
