Leon Balogun wants the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to take action after the Super Eagles were poorly treated by Libyan authorities following their arrival in the country on Sunday for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday four encounter.
The plane carrying the team was due to land in Benghazi before it was diverted to another city.
The players and their officials are still stranded at the Al Abaq Airport 13 hours after landing in Libya.

The NFF was ready to book hotel rooms for players and officials of the team close to the said airport, but were told by all hotels approached that they have been instructed not to welcome Nigerians.
The aircraft crew went searching for hotel rooms, but were told the same thing.
Balogun has now called on CAF to take stringent action against the Libyans.
“Hey @CAF_Online – surely you’re going to investigate thoroughly and take action, right? Whoever is responsible for this needs to be held accountable. This is unacceptable!!.”

Since the SACK of GENERAL ROAR, SUPER EAGLES have been UNDERATED and LOOKED DOWN upon on so many occasions…
This can never happened under GENERAL ROAR….
We need him back to help us recover our PRESTIGE that the TEAM is known for..
If we can’t get him lets try HARVARD RENARD again…
I’m starting to think you are a seriously ill person in the head…We are talking about the safety of these players and you are here talking rubbish. May God judge you.
Seems you haven’t taken your psych medication before coming here to type this nonsense.
You are Sick!!!
Highly insensitive, despicable and to use the word of Balogun, unacceptable.
And on that, Nigerians online must begin to rein in anything Libya on the internet using our high online presence. The country as a whole needs to be thought a lesson in other to serve as deterrent to others who think Nigeria can be so treated, nonsense nór.
Statistically, Libya’s current population is pegged at 7,4m as of today, based on Worldometer’s elaboration of the latest United Nations data. While we are 234m within the same timeframe. That’s about that. Moreso, Libya’s online presence(internet users) is only 6.13 million as at January this year while we are 122.5 million internet users in Nigeria. We can take on Libya any which way.
I would like the media to step in, work with these figures to properly place the people of the tiny country where they belong as this international embarrassment mustn’t go unpunished.
Nice one osedion!
Thanks my brother and in fact, that’s the only option left for us and besides, most of the global issues are now won on the social media. Time we began kicking Libyans for the embarrassment is just too much. My real name is Odion but Oseodion is just a an online handle.
