Despite their dominant display, DR Congo had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Zambia in Wednesday’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Zambia opened the scoring in the 23rd minute through Kings Kangwa to the delight of their supporters.
However, Congo leveled parity in the 27th minute through Yoane Wissa’s brilliant goal.

The goal spurred DR Congo in search of the match winner as the team dominated possession and created lots of goal scoring chances but failed to find the back of the net.
DR Congo could have extended their lead few minutes to the end of the second half after they were awarded a penalty but the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to cancel the penalty.
At the end of 90 minutes, Zambia and DR Congo settled for a point apiece.
