Ademola Lookman has said he will bring his A game to this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
The tournament will kickoff next Saturday with the opening game between hosts Côte d’Ivoire and Guinea-Bissau.
The Eagles will begin their campaign on Sunday, 14 January against Equatorial Guinea.
Lookman will feature in his first appearance at a major tournament for Nigeria.
Speaking on the preparations Lookman, I’m a chat on NFF TV, said:”Just like the rest of my teammates, we are all prepared, it’s been a few good days training here in Abu Dhabi preparing for the AFCON and obviously getting the mindset to do big things in Ivory Coast.
“Just like everyone, I want to give my best for the team, to bring my A game to this tournament, for Nigeria and for the fans and we will see where that takes us.”
The Atalanta forward added:“As a squad and as a team we are together and we believe in ourselves that’s the mindset.”
Meanwhile, in a test game against a local club side in Abu Dhabi on Sunday the Eagles won 12-0.
Lookman scored four goals, Victor Osimhen, Umar Sadiq, Moses Simon each bagged a brace and the opposition had two own goals.
On Monday, the Eagles will face Guinea in a friendly and return to Nigeria on Tuesday.

All these ones are not se materials..
They are not rugged, tough they are too soft…
Agreed. Very soft indeed.
Monkey Post, Edoman. Let’s rally around the SuperEagles. At least until we are no longer in contention for the trophy. Lookman is the most technical player in the team. I just felt he’s been played out of position in Peseiro’s 442. He’s more of a Siasia in today’s Eagles or an attacking midfielder.
I think what Nigeria has missed with these generation of SuperEagles is that we’ve lacked that player that can do all the dirty jobs in midfield. Onazi did it to help Mikel when it mattered most in his career. I think Alhassan Yusuf or Raphael Onyedika can prove to be the diamond in the rough for the SuperEagles in this tournament.
I know the coach is not anywhere near Gernot Rohr, but we don’t have Gernot anymore. Let’s wish the team all the best. Peseiro will most likely leave after the AFCON. I just appreciate the NFF for all to at least not making a mistake of sacking a coach on the eve of a major tournament.
Whatever happens in Abidjan I just want to see how my SuperEagles can fight for the green and white. Our pride is still on the line. It’s either you measure or Koṣi danu after the AFCON. Therefore, VAMOS ARRIBBA SUPEREAGLES!!!! Fly like an eagle into the future.
Very technical player.
