Ola Aina has reiterated Super Eagles’ desire to secure a place in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Complete sports.com reports.
The West Africans are targeting a fourth AFCON title in Cote d’Ivoire.
Jose Peseiro’s men will do battle with the Bafana Bafana in a semi-final fixture at the Stade de la Paix, Bouake on Wednesday night.
Aina, who is anticipating a tough test against the former champions stated that the Super Eagles are ready for the challenge.
“It is going to be a good game between two good teams. Myself and my teammates are ready for this challenge,” Aina said at a press conference in Abidjan on Tuesday.
The Super Eagles have conceded just once in five games at the AFCON 2023 finals.
Aina credited head coach Jose Peseiro for the team’s impressive performance in Cote d’Ivoire.
“I think he (Peseiro) is a good coach. He’s hard on us when he needs to do that and lenient when he needs to. There’s a correct balance to help the players do things the right way,” added the Nottingham Forest defender.
