Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro says it is time for his team to start scoring goals reports Completesports.com.
The three-time African champions booked their place in the Round of 16 at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations following a hard-earned 1-0 victory against Guinea-Bissau on Monday night.
Peseiro’s side have struggled in front of goal in the competition, scoring three goals in three matches.
Two of the goals have come from open play, while the other was scored from the spot.

With the competition now in the knockout round, Peseiro said it is important for his players to start converting their chances.
“It’s a new competition that’s starting for us. The most important part of a competition, the knockout matches,” Peseiro told reporters.
” We will have to be more clinical in front of goal because the slightest mistake will be fatal for us”
The Super Eagles will take on the second-place team in Group C in the Round of 16 at the Felix Houphouet Boigny, Stadium on Saturday night.

We begged you to consider Ejuke, Obinna Nwobodo and Ifeanyi Matthew. You chose Onyedika, Musa and Aribo (a disgrace to number 10).
Your job is on the line in the next match if care is not taken. Can’t you bench Osimhen? All this running up and down behaving like African footballer of the MONTH…FINGERS CROSSED.
Tribalism kiiil you there. Listen, Osimhen’s work rate besides scoring the goal in the first match and also causing the penalty Ekong scored is the reason why Eagles are still in the tournament. Nwobodo ko, Nwakali ni. Clubless Nwakali, my friend you have better stopped this unna mhen tribal nonsense. Its already in the open
Another Mad ghanian is on it again.who are you to speak against Osimhen foolish animal
When Gernot Rohr was saying Ighalo is better than osimhen and prefer him to osimhen, you people were crying hell. Now you people can see what Rohr was saying is right.
Let’s rest abeg
I remember when ighalo was missing glorious chances at the world cup and some other games and was getting threat to his life and that of his family, we didn’t remember he was the best striker ever..
Oshimen is showing hunger but has been unlucky.. we all saw how he kept trying to head the ball into the net, but it wasn’t easy for him.. if not for the hand ball( which wasn’t his fault, or should he cut off his hands) one of those disallowed goals would have resulted in a goal..
We are winning games and that is what matters.. This was why we sacked rohn, who was giving us 1 -0 victory against teams like cape Verde and we kept on complaining that we want to see beautiful football..
1: 0 till we get to the final can get us this cup.. that is what that matters..
I concur with you nwanne. 1.0 till the finals can get us the cup. Football has changed in Afrca. Just take a look at what is happening in Africa. Small countries are becoming a hard bone to swallow for the so called big teams. It’s better we play ugly football and win games than play beautiful football and lose. At the end of it all, what matters is the result. Football is biz. For osimhem, he will get his time. There is a lot of pressure upon that boy. Everybody wants him to prove that he’s Africa’s best and make no mistake, defenders would not be moping at him bcs he’s a star. They’d try to close him down the best they could. What the coach needs to do at this moment is to tweak his tactics. Possibly field another striker In place of osimhen or play 2 strikers upfront to lessen the pressure and attention on osimhen. A change of formation to an attacking one is needed.
Thank you. I believe Oshimen needs to be talked to. All this noise about he is not good. He is not a good finisher. He is this and he is that is not the problem.
Oshimen stats right from the youth days are there for all to see. His records in Europe are there to see. Some of the headers he is missing at afcon, he has scored them against better teams in Europe.
Can you go and take a look at his goals in Europe last season?
He has also scored goals for Nigeria too. Can you also check the goals he has scored for Nigeria too.
So we can’t just bury him just like that and begin to say players like onuachu etc are better finisher. The records both in Europe and Nigeria does not show that. While not talking down on onuachu, he is not in the class of Oshimen.
What do I think is the problem of Oshimen. I think it is psychological. If I am the coach I will take him out alone and have a chat with him. He is just putting himself under intense pressure to score and he is missing babsy chances.
He missed many headers yesterday that he would have buried at Napoli.
The coach should talk to him. Forget the fact that he is APOTY, he is still your player. I can even put him on the bench in the first 45 minutes to pass across my message. I will discuss my decision to do this with him. I’ll let him know it is to help him.
Strikers miss chances but the level of chances Oshimen has missed in this afcon call for serious help for him and the help he need is psychological.
I took my time to watch again some of his goals last season to help myself not to jump into baseless conclusion that he is not a good striker. That’s a lie. The records show it – he is one of the best in the world in that position. The coach needs to help him.
Someone said rohr preferred ighalo to him. That’s not completely true. Ighalo was a senior eagle and Oshimen was just coming into the team. In fact rohr saw the quality in Oshimen and gave him the chance in eagles.
Pesero you do two things:
Put him on bench in the next match. Let him come in the second half.
Or
Play iheanacho with him instead of chukuwueze.
For those asking for two strikers, I doubt if pesero will change his formation.
That man is learning his lessons about Nigeria.
Come to think about it. Conceding cheap goals and attackers not scoring have given him poor record as a coach of Nigeria. Here at afcon he has been to solve to some extent the goal keeping issue. He also has been to do something about the defence issues with 343.
That man will stick to this formation and only tweek it in second half depending on what happens in a match.
With 343, our team has not conceded a goal. And you think he will abandon it. He is wiser now. He now understand the language of Nigeria. We just want to win.
The truth is that pesero might just have found a plan that can take us to the final of this competition.
I have not really seen any team that have created chances and lost chances in this competition. Not even Senegal.
With this formation and Oshimen and iheanacho scoring goals. We may just surprised ourselves in this competition.
“Peseiro’s side have struggled in front of goal in the competition, scoring three goals in three matches.”
With all due respect CS, Peserios charges have struggled in front of goal in ALL COMPETITIONS since he took over 23 months ago.
Such that the two games with Sao tome and principe accounted for 60% of the total goals his team has scored in 24 matches.
His problem is “thorough blind loyalty” to some strikers so that their replacements for example in non competitive matches will not have the opportunity to outshine his most beloved.
He thinks Greece style in euros 2004 will suffice here.
Granted, he is not the one to score the goals BUT HE IS THE ONE THAT CHOSE THE MISFIRING PERSONNEL AND STILL HAS NO BALLS TO REJIG THE ATTACK.
90 minutes for 3 matches is ALMOST 5 HOURS OF FOOTBALL, my friend and people who have mostly been together since 2019 (5 solid years playing nearly 55 national team matches since) having scoring problem despite their larger than life market worth that is higher than 14 other AFCON teams of 27 players combined, shows a complicit coach enabling an over-ego bloated squad.
I sincerely hope Guinea is their next opponent so it will be another all time low losing to them twice in a month because they are ready to “fumble and tumble” their way out of AFCON.
Credit to them. 1982 still remains the last time we failed to advance from the group stage but that is it.
My only regret is the same boys (mostly) are still well below under 30 so the nation is still stuck with them as AFCON 2025 qualifiers will start and finish from September to November this year.
Walahi, better teams in our world cup qualifying group will take their place with purposeful, expansive football.
I am beginning to think the coach is not their problem since the decline had been evident before he took over the reins.
Abeg, e join too. If he found quality replacements for every position and gave all equal chances, this 5hours AFCON goal drought would never have happened.
Barring injuries which the injured would not have displaced the ones playing anyway, this team reeked of disjointed performance from the word go.
Is it not even lugubrious that the only quality friendly with Portugal ended with a taunt from a more misfiring Man utd player because of the abject show on display?
A new coach will still not create competition for places in that team after they are bundled out of AFCON as I expect.
How would he accommodate 770 more unbaked strikers with a perennial underwhelming midfield?
Like I wrote yesterday, each player has since pocketed 25 million naire for playing insipid 2 wins and a draw (10m for win, 5m for draw).
After all, Tinubu released 12 billion for them. Let me go and hustle my own because we are condemned with this bunch for a couple more years since they are young.
If super eagles are to score Goals then the coach must give other attackers in the team opportunities to play in the next match.he should introduce moffi ,kelechi and others in the next match. The substitution during the previous match against Guinea Bissau was not inspiring.
Another issue was the issue of officiating. Nigerian referees are better than the average referee who presided over Nigeria vs Guinea match.mr picnic is an executive member of caf yet caf has ignored Nigerian referees.
How can we score goals when you dont make the right changes at the right time?.. How can you start Aribo ahead of Iwobi?,, wHen Chukweze was playing crppy why did he remain on the pitch, Why start Moses Simon when it is clear that Moses Simon in SE is an Impact player not a stater, Why leave Lookman and Iwobi on the Bench Lookman was so good in our last game. Why have Iheanacho and Moffi not started playing when we know they have goals in them?.. even we fans know this. You say we must start scoring goals yet Pesiero it is clear you dont even knwo the players. You are the type in the knockouts if the game is tight and we need goals in the second half you will go and call on Onuachu and Musa inseadt of Iheanacho or Moffi. Inshort Peseiro you displayed your coaching skills yesterday and I was scared and not impressed they say it is in games like the 3rd game against a lessor opposition in a tournament where a team needs a win that the true skills of a coach is displayed and I must say Peseiro you failed miserably all your block head had to do was introduce Iwobi, Lookman, Moffi and Iheanacho in that game. You couldn’t even do that. Shame on you Pesiero
@Ugo Iwunze… often you dont speak with logic. What is your grouse with Paul Onuachu? Is he the reason we are not scoring goals? How many minutes in total has the coaches given to Onuachu? Did you realise how well he has contributed in play for the cameo roles he has been given so far? I do not even see Victor Osimhen as being more clinical than Paul Onuachu… atleast we are all witnessing it live now in the AFCON! Why dont you gie Onuachu same minutes or 40% of what you give to Osimhen and see if he performs abtter or not? Please stop alling out players unfairly.
@JimmyBall I keep telling you time and again Paul Ebere Onuachu has nothing to offer international ball definitely not against African opposition in AFCON when alot of teams have defenders playing in Top Leagues even some Average teams and certainly not against European opposition in World Cups and friendlies. Paul is tooo slow bros and is sluggish in a tight game when you need a quick goal he is not the player to call on except if it is his day which is rare and he has a long range goal in him other than that in 9 games out of 10 he will give nothing and keep falling and defenders will cut the space or use speed to dispose him of the ball because his balance is also zero. This is the reason he failed in England and the reason he will not make it in La Liga, Bundesliga, Eredivisie he may make it in France but probs not. France have some quick Defenders too.
Boniface and Awoniyi’s injury and NFF mess up with Sadiq Imar was not a good omen for us on this Tournament is all I can say.
@JimmyBall *Sadiq Umar*
@Ugo Iwunze… Dont be angry with this question o… have you played real professional football before? I doubt… Your criticism of Onuachu is unfounded and to me, he is a better player than Sadiq Umar… like for like. Paul Onuachu will score all the goals Osimhen has been missing to connect with his head… over reliance and trust in Victor Osimhen who has so far misfired will get us kicked out of this AFCON trust me… football is 85% brain and 15% power but for Osimhen it’s the opposite that’s why he has been horrible so far for an African Footballer of the year calibre player…
I ve said it many times I would be saying it again, some players doesn’t deserve eagles jersey, Aribo, Iwobi. Onyedika, doesn’t deserve future invitation. I know mentioning Iwobi name will give some ppl high blood pressure, but guys remove sentiments the guy has not shown any improvement. Only onyeka, Aina, Bassey and Ajayi, Ekong, playing with guts and passion
Have you ever seen me praise Iwobi here? I’m not part of those blind-bats. Iwobi offers nothing other than being Jay-Jay Okocha’s cousin! This coach has Iheanacho (the most technical and clinical goalscorer) but will refuse to play him, instead he allows Chukwueze and Simon to be dancing Papa-Ajasco on the pitch. I don’t see Osimhen thriving in this tournament without Iheanacho. He’s the one with those perfect balls; not hitting simple passes away like Simon and Chukwueze does.
I have criticized Iwobi on this forum, but we have no one better to play in the space at the top of the midfield. Yes, we can try Iheanacho but the role is also not natural to him.
The problem with Iwobi is Asheju – doing too much. If Iwobi sticks to his role of connecting the midfield to the attack then he’s an asset, but if starts trying to be a central or defensive midfielder then he is of no use to the SE.
How will they score when you refuse to play the only technical player on the bench? This coach no sabi anything. He should keep riding on luck!
The one mistake present Napoli coach and now Peseiro are making and militating against Osimene scoring is playing OSIMENE as a point MAN. Yes Osimene score goals but he is not a point man.
Osimene body structure, when tightly marked will struggle to enter into the right shape to score goals. Body shapes that are very flexible like the, Boniface, Batistuta of old, Aguero, Haaland, Benzema, etc will always fit into that point man role. To get the best of Osimene, you play him behind the point man, such Onuachu, who is about the only real point man in this team presently. Osimene has very good ball skills; hold up play very well, has great strength and huge volume of energy to run the show from the middle to produce goals from outside the box.
So I suggest Peseiro plays Osimene behind every other striker available to him, preferably Onuachu, if we must get the best out of him. That will again make it very difficult for opponents to close Mark him and if opposition still insists on close marking while he roves about, then they will end playing short of two players creating opening for our point man and other attackers to take advantage of available to score goals. This is a tactical play that present Napoli coach and Peseiro are struggling to see and try out.
Thank you Glory. That is exactly why I endorse an arrangement that either provides Osimhen a strike partner or attacking midfielders nearby. That is why he was very close to scoring in the first game against Equatorial Guinea.
You are spot on by saying that his body shape against Ivory Coast and Guinea Bissau occasioned by the arrangement of the team limited Osimhen’s capabilities.
I will urge Peseiro to return to an approach that generated copious scoring possibilities. That said, if the set-up against Ivory Coast can be tweaked, then there is hope.
@deo here is the tweek
Osayi Samuels
Aribo
Moses Simon
Samuel Chukweze
Ajayi
Must all be dropped in the next game to be replaced by
Iwobi
Yusuf
Lookman
Moffi or Iheanacho for the next game to partner Osimhen an
Sanusi ( Pushed to the left then Calvin Bassey to partner either Ekong or Omeruo in the centre, prefreably Ekong)
Ajayi was terrible last night, His horrid Back pass that nearly threw Nwabali under the bus. His Pass out of the back Long range passes that never met the intended target and his all round play was bad lacked the desired quality for me at least. He should not be called up from hence forth Balogun or Kevin Akpoguma could have definitely done much better than Ajayi in this Tournment, Balogun pass out from the back always meets the desired target
Forget his Cross that caused the owngoal but for me Moses Simon, Aribo, Ajayi, Osayi Samuels and Chukwueze had the worst games last night and were the players that made us look weak yesterday. Frank Onyeka did not have his best game either
I think we should not use one game to judge players, we should look at their performance over several games especially games before this tournament.
For me, Aribo has shown that he is not SE material and he is not a midfielder either defensive, central or attacking. He is very negative and rarely progresses the ball.
The others, especially Moses Simon have had good games, Ajayi has been especially useful for setpieces and corners where his ability in the air is unmatched by the other defenders. Osayi Samuel is still finding his feet, not long ago he was being praised as a tremendous addition, Chukwueze is the great enigma I used to dislike his inconsistent style but who do we have to replace him on the right, Ahmed Musa? I had hoped that the selection of Tella would put pressure on Chukwueze but Musa took his spot on the right wing – and Musa is at AFCON to enjoy the buffet.
@Tristan I agree with you on Tella it pained me to see Musa name on the sheet and not that of Orban or Tella, Tella scored a goal for Bayer Leverkusen over the weekend hence I always say this thing of Musa taking Players place in SE is dangerous and even more so that the coaches allow it. Orban after his Move to Lyon will show his qualities again as his unhappiness at playing in Belguim is gone you see he is a players that has a big dream and abitions.
With the likes of Ajayi I am sorry this game exposed him he looks like he will buckle when the pressure intensifies. Moses Simon is an Impact player and going forward along with Musa he should also make way for the younger generation he is also approaching 30 yrs now. Chukweze as you have said for me that boy is really upseeting me but i always knew that AC Milan is a step too far for him at least for now in his career he will certainely reach his peak but like Drogba and some other players he is a late bloomer it seems. YEah thats me..
Our only saving grace is that we have the likes of Boniface, Awoniyi, Ndidi, Orban and Tella(as you rightly said) Success (needs to be looked in again can also do waay better than Moses Simon and Musa if given the chance) and some defenders like Balogun ( Doing well in Rangers) Kevin Akpoguma, And Nigeria need to really make the switch of Olise a reality and Call back Nwakali.
Yeah thanks brodaman Deo. I strongly believe that little tweak of playing OSIMENE behind a point man will unleash the deadly real beast in Osimene. Go back to the Olympic qualifiers where Osimene played behind Taiwo Awoniyi, who if not for injury would been the perfect point man, then you understand my point better.
Other players that could have been perfect for that point man role to partner Osimenegooooallls are Dessers, Akpom and Orban but unfortunately, we don’t have them here. So the best available to us for this tournament is Onuachu.
Great points Glory, great points. Thanks.
I salute u Ugo. Good points!
Kelechi is the best option to play with or behind Osimhen. Onuachu can only come in as an impact sub to replace Kelechi or Lookman in the front three. Nigeria’s best front three to guarantee goals going forward in this tournament are Lookman Iheanacho and Osimhen. Onuachu and Chukwueze or Simon and Moffi can only be an impact subs. Our defense and midfield are not doing bad especially with Yusuf returning. We need a fit Kelechi in that attack.
A beg rest AY. Iroko Tree is the best option to partner Osihmen.
Iroko has played two games so far with zero goal threat. He was only good to hold up play for the last 10 minutes against the host that was there for the taking. Kelechi is the best option in that front three if we want to go far. Iroko can only come in to do what he did against Ivory Coast for the rest of the tournament.
I agree with you @Ayphillydegreat!
Chukwueze, Iwobi, Aribo, and Simon in that order have been the major disappointment for the team.
Imagine playing tor AC Milan and having less than 70% passing rate, lack of technical contribution, and poor control of the ball. This same player gets being on the team all the time.
These 4 players need to be axed from the lineup and replaced by Yusuf for Aribo, Nacho for Iwobi, Lookman for Simon, and Moffi/Musa for Chukwueze.
Musa if still in form would do a better job from the wings than Simon and Chukwueze.
@Larry… Thank you. Now you see why some of go kaboom on these players? Any fan with a good eye for solid football already knew about these players since years back… compare mobility of our players and passing structure of Super Eagles to Cape Verde. It’s very clear to see that we lacked players who really know how to pass the ball and open into space for return pass option as it’s simple from how Cape Verde does it… Those guys almost gave Egypt heart attack yesterday. Very solid football from Cape Verde… those guys just move triangles around the pitch beautifully.
@Jimmy,i’m with you on this. Though I still don’t agree that Onuachu is a good replacement for Osi9 in the team. The only solution is to look for a fast and goal scoring attacking player (Lookman, Moffi ) to play partner Osi9. If Musa is still in form, he is the best modern winger in the team since Tella is not there.
Under normal circumstances, Chukwueze, Iwobi, Aribo, and Simon have done enough to be on the bench.
@Larry… Osimhen is too much power and less brainwork. He has always been like that… we should start looking at Osimhen like disputable and try other strikers also, or have someone pair him in a two-prong attack, we can make Onuachu pointman and Osimhen to partner him slightly drifting sideways and into the midfield… Onuachu can help Osimhen… he sniffs goals better especially in the 18yard box. If we continue to pivot our offense around Osimhen without any sort of tweeking… we will soon be heading home.
@JimmyBall lol don’t make us laugh no coach in his right Mind will ever Drop Osimhen for Onuachu. If Boniface, Inform Orban and Awoniyi were there definitely Osimhen Being dropped in order to shake him up is possible. But with Onuachu to call Upon not possible. However the Coach should have tried to bring in Moffi in that game to see if he can handle point man work but the coach himself even failed that. Now the Next game is too late to try dropping Osimhen certainly not for Onuachu.
@Ugo Iwunze… Onuachu should not be expected to pick the ball from defence and go and put it in the opponent’s net, just same way Osimhen does not do so. A striker needs service and that is how football is played. Onuachu is a very talented player who knows his way to the goal has more football brain than Osimhen… I am not saying Osinhem be dropped for Onuachu but if one attacker cannot score, would you not rather substitute him than let him stay 90minutes wasting everyone’s patience on the pitch without result? No be only one person the play ball abeg… as for me I rate Onuachu higher than Terem Moffi who is another type of Chukwueze to me…
JimmyBall that is coaching. It is what a very good coach can achieve with a team without egos. All the big teams have players with large egos. The smaller teams have better teamwork.
Larry and Ugo, yes I agree that players who have punch below their weight should shape up. I always all for giving players a long rope to pull. The likes of Aribo, Chukwueze, Simon and Onyeka can still come good. Even Nwabili has to be careful: he did fumble some shots at him yesterday and even conceded a saveable goal but for offside rule. I am not Advocating that Nwabili be dropped but as we move into the business end of the tournament, those sort of inadequacies from Nwabili can be punished and we will be back to square one. If that happens perhaps we can try Olorunleke Ojo.
With Okoye gradually establishing himself in Italy, he should hopefully be back, ready and stronger for World Cup qualifiers.
@deo, happy to learn Okoye is back playing regularly. Will find time to check him out. But got now, Bobo remains the number 1. After AFCON, your guy no go see bench again cuz its gonna be Bobo, Okoye, and another new GK.
Hahaha! My guy Uzoho go shock una o! The guy is a cat with 9 lives….. 🙂
Our coach must be bold guys, move Aina to attacking midfield, he’s technical, more skillful and a better passer than Iwobi, our major problem is Iwobi, Osimihen needs a solid attacking midfielder, fast technical and wingers like Tella, but sentiments kept Tella away.
If we don’t arrest our profligacy, our profligacy will arrest us
My regret in this competition has to do with:
Not seeing ndidi put forward what he is doing this season In an advanced midfield role for Leicester. Painful
Not seeing Boniface in this afcon. I wanted to see what he would against Africa. I wanted that boy to take the APOTY from Oshimen this year. With what he is doing at Leverkusen, a good afcon would have sealed it. That boy is good. I hope he can come good.
Not seeing gift orban at afcon and eagles shirt. He and Boniface have guts and skills and finishing power. The likes of Simon and chukuwueze and Musa should be bench materials.
Not having desser in that striking position because of Oshimen. I still believe desser is a good finisher than the likes of moffi and onuachu.
Well, that’s football.
Very true, Boniface, Orban, Dessers, Ndidi, etc in this squad, we definitely won’t be struggling for goals. Maybe Osimhen is overwhelmed with the expectations on his shoulders.
If Peseiro is not ready to play Bruno, then he shd retain Aina as our LB and play awazien as RB, the defenders underrate Aina left foot and he has descent cross with his left than even zaibu a natural leftie.
Shout till tomorrow, iwobi remain the best we have as an AM for now, we only need to have a two defensive minded players behind him in a 3412 formation, play him directly behind two strikers in lookman and osimhen or kelechi and osimhen.
Seems peseiro planing Amunike 94 for kelechi or why have we not seen him on the pitch yet? We still gat loads of firepower on that bench that’s yet to taste action, Peseiro is cooking something fantastic, that’s what my gut is telling me.
Lol. Femi my guy why have you been avoiding me na? Lol. Werey!
…@Ayphillydegreat… Is it easy to have the natural genetics of an Iroko Tree? Iroko na tree wey get levels for where other kind trees dey jare… you are one guy I respect a lot on this forum but dont come here to belittle a guy who is agood at what he does.
…”Iroko has played two games with zero goal threat”… where the chance wey you create give am? Bro… yarn sensibly please!!! Make una no do wetin dey for una best interest. Na the akatanpa ball wey Osimhen play for 3hours against Ghana home and away no score him still carry come this Nations’ Cup.
Bro I have nothing against Iroko he did well against the host to hold up play and win fowls to kill the game. I believe that’s about all he can offer going forward. Iheanacho is a better option in the front three unless we bench Lookman for Iroko. Okay let’s try Iroko Osimhen and Lookman to see what they can offer, but I’ll prefer Iheanacho Osimhen and Lookman front three any day anytime and every Sunday.
I can’t continue reading this sh*t how can someone be compering osimehn with onuachu? Who is onuachu?what has he achieve in his career?how many goals did he as for Nigeria?u people forget osimehn is just 25 and his about to break rashidi yekini as Nigeria all time top scorer u can cry or hang ur self my osimehn will go down as best Nigerian player of all time wait let him win ucl and more European cups he would av score more goals but the hate that blind u won’t let u see those useless team mate fail to pass him some he would av easily score a tap in that’s y the coach need to play those that’s not selfish the likes of osayi, chukwueze,Simon all denie osimehn some tap in goal but they would only give him ball when is back is turn to goalpost or the defender is with him go and watch those one on one osimehn miss iwobi and lookman play him through then I can remember one from chukwueze some times team mate make the ball easy for striker halland and man City as example
Brodaman jozzyboy, don’t waste your precious time, responding to some crass comments here. I don’t think anyone will dare say Onuachu is anywhere near Osimenes quality but maybe to take some pressure of him. Yeah that makes sense.
Osimene has loads of abilities yet to be taking advantage of. I tell you, from what I can see in Osimene, he can play very well in central defence, defensive midfield, attacking midfield, besides his striking position.
BUT HIS BEASTY BEST IS BEHIND A POINT MAN, AND IN THIS TEAM PRESENTLY ONUACHU FITS THE BILL PERFECTLY. ONUACHU NEED AN OSIMENE TO AGGRESSIVELY TROUBLE THE DEFENCE WITH THOSE POWERFUL, AGGRESSIVE, FORWARD RUNS WHILE OSIMENE NEEDS ONUACHU TO TAKE SOME TROUBLING ATTENTION AWAY FROM HIM.
AND IF PESEIRO DECIDE TO WANNA CAUSED REAL HEADACHE FOR OPPOSITION, PLAY IHEANACHO FROM THE RIGHT TO SUPPLY THOSE WELL TAILORED CROSSES AND PASSES. 433 IS OUR BEST BET. EVEN WITH 343, GUINEA BISSAU SCORED THOUGH IT WAS DISSALLOWED. IT’S NOT ABOUT FORMATION, ITS ABOUT OUR PLAYERS GETTING REALLY GRITTY/AGGRESSIVE AND WINNING EVERY SECOND BALL.
SOMETHING TELLS ME OSIMENE PLAYING BEHIND ONUACHU WILL PRODUCE GOALS APLENTY. BUT WHATEVER THE GAFFER PLAYS, I AM SOLIDLY BEHIND HIM; SUPPORTING THIS TEAM ALL THE WAY IRRESPECTIVE.
@Glory… you are referring to my comment as being crass. Have you really followed my comments on this thread? You insult me on my comment yet went ahead to repeat and echo my same sentiments. Did you read where I said Onuachu should play as a point and Osimhen alongside him in a two-prong attack?. Some of you are very thick in the head.
@ Jimmyball read carefully and understand before replying wrongly. At least you comment confirms my position with your post on this thread.
