Victor Osimhen trained with his Super Eagles teammates in Bouake on Tuesday night as they rounded up preparations for Wednesday’s semi-final tie against South Africa.
Osimhen was a major doubt for the encounter billed for the Stade de la Paix on Wednesday after failing to travel with the rest of the squad to Bouake on Monday night due to abdominal discomfort.
The Napoli hitman however joined the rest of the squad in Bouake on Tuesday afternoon.

“Victor Osimhen has been declared fit and available for selection in the semi-final clash against South Africa on Wednesday. He has joined the team in Bouaké and has trained with the squad today,” reads a statement on the Super Eagles official X handle.
The 25-year-old has scored one goal and registered one assist in five appearances for the Super Eagles at the ongoing AFCON 2023 finals.
The game will commence at 5pm Cote d’Ivoire time (6pm in Nigeria).

MY KILLER FORMATION
South Africa vs Nigeria
3-4-3 Formation.
Goalkeeper: Stanley Nwabali.
Stanley Nwabali has done really well to become the Super Eagles’ first-choice goalkeeper ahead of Francis Uzoho. The Chippa United Shot-Stopper will mount the goal-post once again for Nigeria against South Africa.
Centre-Backs Kenneth Omeruo, William Troost-Ekong, and Semi Ajayi.
I believe Jose Peseiro should make a unique change to his defensive setup, bringing Kenneth Omeruo into the picture to partner with William Troost-Ekong and Semi Ajayi.
Full-Backs: Ola Aina and Calvin Bassey.
Ola Aina will maintain his position in the right-back position for the Super Eagles while Calvin Bassey plays in the left-back position, benching underperforming Zaidu Sanusi.
Midfielders: Frank Onyeka and Alex Iwobi.
The midfield duo of Frank Onyeka and Alex Iwobi will most likely carry on for the Super Eagles in this game against South Africa. Frank Onyeka will do the dirty job defensively while Alex Iwobi will be the brain behind the team’s attacking plays from the midfield.
Forwards: Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen and Moses Simon.
This frontline setup involving Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen, and Moses Simon has yielded some good results for the Super Eagles in the tournament and it will most likely be used again against South Africa.
Prediction
South Africa 0:3 Nigeria (Brace by Osimhen)
Naija Naija……Let’s do it again!!!
We’ve been LOOKING (Lookman); it’s time now to be SINGING (Osimhen).
Nice lineup bro but let’s allow d coach do his job so far he has done well, except an unforseen circumstance I expect him to stick to same lineup ziadu might look like d weak link in d team from our owns perspective but d coach sees better he alone knows who fit into he’s formation
Good luck SE and Godbless Nigeria
SE players should be wary of red card. It’s going to be a game against CAF. A lot will be done on and off the field of play to make sure Bafana wins
I pray we win oh. Senegal won AFCON at the expense of Egypt and also snatched the world cup ticket from the during the play offs.
Winning today’s match will give us the psychological edge during world cup qualifiers.
The game is a game of both goalkeepers .am sure both of them has shared and analysed the weaknesses of nwabali since he plays in their league. Nwabali should be up to game and know what their target is. This South African side is compact and strong I believe the SE will come out victorious.
