Senegal winger, Krepin Diatta has labelled organizers of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations as corrupt after the Teranga Lions were eliminated by Ivory Coast on Monday.
The 24-year-old Monaco player made this known in a chat with France 24, where he criticized the center referee, Referee Pierre Ghislain Atcho, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) and CAF staff in the mixed zone for not awarding Senegal a penalty.
‘You have killed us. You are corrupt,’ Diatta said after the final whistle. ‘Keep your African Cup’.

‘You got to the VAR to give them a penalty, while our guy (Sarr) picks up the ball 40 metres from goal, goes on a run into the box and you don’t want to go to VAR?’ Diatta accused gathered officials.
‘I’m sorry, but that is going to far. I’m really sorry, but they have killed our competition.’
Recall that Ivory Coast ousted Senegal 5-4 on penalties to qualify to the quarter finals of the tournament.

Mane that escaped red card was what?
Don’t mind HIM JARE. If Mane red card stood. They would have really suffered 4 to five goals
It’s Nigeria cup abeg
The thing pained the guy.
I understand. Nigeria penalty also was not given when equatorial guinea player handball inside their eighteen. The referee also didn’t bother to check VAR.
Sometimes it happen in football. You just have to overlook it and move on.
Ire ooh!
What a foolish statement by a sore loser. The incident he claimed was a penalty was not a penalty, after replays of the incident it was clear the referee was spot on. When Senegal won, AFCON organisers were not corrupt abi. CAF should hand this guy a 10 match ban and $100,000 fine for bringing the game and CAF to utter disrepute. Roadside fans can make such nonsensical statements but not players, coaches and FA officials.
