Former Nigerian international, Daniel Amokachi has commended Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali in the teams’s penalty shootouts win over South Africa in the semi-final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Recall that two saves from Nwabali helped Nigeria beat South Africa 4-2 on penalties and reach the final of AFCON.

However, reacting to Nigeria’s win, the 1994 AFCON winner during his commentary on Afrosport AFCON coverage, hailed Nwabali’s confidence against South Africa.
“Nwabali has done really well for the Super Eagles and I am proud of him.
“He was so instrumental in the team’s victory over South Africa with some crucial saves and most especially in the penalty shootouts. “
