Victor Osimhen has reflected on the Super Eagles hard-earned victory against the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire.
Jose Peseiro’s men claimed their first win at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, edging out the hosts 1-0 in a keenly contested encounter.
Osimhen won the penalty that was converted by William Troost-Ekong for the winning goal on 55 minutes.
“It’s a beautiful victory; we knew we would face a strong Cote d’Ivoire team,” the Napoli hitman said after the game.

“In the first match, we had numerous chances that we didn’t capitalize on. Today wasn’t different; we maintained the same mentality, and we hope this victory brings joy to everyone.
“We will carry this mindset into the remainder of the competition.”
The Super Eagles now occupy second position in Group A with four points from two games.
Jose Peseiro’s men will take on the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau in their next game at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan next week Monday.

Well said Osimen but you guys must be careful of the Djurtus for they are very good.
Alhamdulilah, to God be the glory. I am proud you Osimhen and the entire team. Kudos to Oga Paseiro as well because I did not believe in him.
Onuachu proved his worth, and he brought calmness to the team.
I hope Nigerians are enjoying Nwabali performances so far, and if so, glory to God.
I hope it continues this way. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
I think Nwabali is getting better by the day, we are hopeful that the keeping department issues will have come to pass
Just Imagine a whole African best is still stuck on one goal. If no be cheap team Osimhen no dey score..make una just dey watch him go score the next game…
That’s why y’all need to respect Ighalo he is the last nigerian player to win the afcon golden booth and he has been holding the record for half a decade now….
You’re simply a very negative and loud mouthed fellow. You keep shouting like you know it all. Whereas “those who speak loudly like they know too much, know nothing”
Grow up bro.
You really talk too much for a grown man!
@OB:Don’t mind that Monkey ass hole who thinks winding people up is a joke. He’s a child out of a candy shop. His beloved Black stars are playing shit.
He’s winding you up yet you encourage him by responding each time he sends a post to tickle you haha…
The Super Eagles know that man-for-man they’re the best in Africa.Which why they’re the most expensive squad at AFCON. Coach Peseiro was tactically refined today. I hope he has been paid salaries owed him.
