Ivory Coast coach, Jean-Louis Gasset has been sacked after the team’s dismal performance in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
This was confirmed by the country’s football federation (FIF) on Wednesday.
“The contracts of coach Jean-Louis Gasset and his assistant Ghislain Printant are terminated due to insufficient results,” the FIF said in a statement
Gasset, 70, took charge of the side in 2022, replacing Patrice Beaumelle. The Frenchman was previously the assistant coach of the France men’s national team and Paris Saint-Germain.

Ivory Coast won their first game at AFCON, beating Guinea-Bissau 2-0 on January 13 thanks to goals from Seko Fofana and Jean-Philippe Krasso.
However, following a 1-0 defeat against Nigeria on January 18, and the damaging 4-0 defeat to Equatorial Guinea on January 21, their future participation in the tournament is no longer in their own hands.
Should they qualify, they will face Group B winners Cape Verde or the winner of Group C in the round of 16.

Will the site planner be sacked too? Lol
Our coach would get the team to semi or final and he wouldn’t be sacked. We believe in continuity and practice they say make perfect.
After all he isn’t a failure like Albino Chris, your PE master.
Stupid idiot! Learn how to write GHANAIAN!

This is how god works. And wen things seems rough a way is made out for Cote D’Ivoire to go to net round . Tonight.
What if CIV end up winning this competition?
Highly unlikely, but not impossible.
If they can just somehow squeeze into the next stage. Then it’s one game at a time.
