Super Eagles midfielder, Frank Onyeka has revealed how the tips he received from Victor Osimhen helped him to clip his Napoli teammate, André-Frank Zambo Anguissa in Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Cameroon in the round of 16 of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Recall that the Brentford midfielder was at his best mettle in that encounter as he prevented Anguissa from making long passes and other short passes to connect with the strikers.
In a chat with The Hindsight Podcast, Onyeka state that Osimhen played a key that exposed Anguissa’s secret play before the game.

“Osimhen told me that he likes to play short, short passes and tries to connect.
“He doesn’t play long so when he gets the ball I try to close him as much as possible even Alex because we know that he doesn’t turn, doesn’t play long passes. He only tries to connect with the strikers with short passes.”
“It has been good, I try to do my job as much as I can so I guess it’s working well so far. I’m really, really glad.”

Chai! You mean am? After just one good game? Really?? lol you people self SMH!
@Field marshal, Frank has been monstrously good in this AFCON from the word go especially from the second game. It’s unfortunate the coach is not playing with two defensive midfielders so that Yusuf kante alhassan will step in as well but this guy’s has been a revelation for me in this tournament. Go rewatch the games again abeg. Let’s give accolades to who deserves it
U re there bro. U haven’t watch Ndidi this season before his injury. Ndidi now scores very well. He does good crosses from the right and is very strong on the ball too. Ndidi has more experience than them all
He is never in Ndidis class , take it or leave itE
Frank the Tank, you should be thanking Maestro Yusuf Alhassan for waking you up from slumber and showing you how’s done. The past three matches have opened new doors for you, just continue to keep it simple and robust!
You and Simon are providing the balance for the team. Hopefully, Iwobi shows up tomorrow, Well Kante is now fit and ready to go.
The boys played well against Cameroon I pray they do the same with against Angola.
