Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro says his side won’t be intimidated by the partisan home crowd at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium on Sunday.
Peseiro also said his players will give their all to win the trophy when they face the hosts in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The three-time champions will be confronting Cote d’Ivoire for the second time in the competition.
The Super Eagles defeated the Elephants 1-0 when both teams met in a group game last month.
Peseiro said his players are ready to do a double over the hosts.

“It’s a big game for us, it’s a final, we fought hard to be here. I’m happy for my team.
“We did a fantastic job, amazing job, we deserved to be in the final.
“It’s going to be a tough game in a good stadium. It’s going to be a full stadium which will create a good atmosphere.
“I always prefer to play in a full stadium than an empty one. I believe this will show our commitment and capacity.
“My players must show same desire and commitment on the pitch.”
The encounter will kick-off at 6pm Nigeria time.

If we had gotten Nwanbali in 2019, this would have been out 5th afcon trophy we are going for
I don’t know about that honestly, because Senegal, Cameroon and Morocco were really good at the last AFCON. But I’m know we would have been in Qatar for sure if he was there in place of Uzoho.
It was really a shame that these boys didn’t go to the last World Cup because of the incompetence of the keeper and the technical crew.
I guess you are referring to 2021, I’m talking about 2019. We defeated Cameroon 3-2 in second round, we lost to Algeria in semi.
@ Jude Dola, you are very right, this will have been our 5th AFCON. We still have an another chance next AFCON . God willing.
From the beginning, Peseiro said he will win AFCON. Now he is in the final. Words are powerful. I think we will win.
Grand father Rohr used to focus on the strength of the opposition and which player was missing. Rohr would have been singing NDIDI is injured, Said I is injured, the Ivorians are now stronger plus home fans.
Best wishes Peseiro and hope the Eagles will prove my home based conjecture wrong tomorrow by winning in Jesus name.
True…
As a man thinks, so he is.
From the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.
The coach had always said the Super Eagles will win 2023 AFCON.
…May he be Ekwueme tomorrow.
Crowd or no crowd nothing will stop Nigeria from winning tomorrow. .
Hosting doesn’t mean you will win. Cameroon won right there in Lagos with our vociferous crowd even at 0-0 regulation time.
So for a team that wants to be a champion, just ignore the home crowd.
From the day he was interviewed, he said he would win Afcon, and he kept hammering on it and kept his faith. Even though later performances and results of friendly matches made many of us doubt and made mockery of him he still kept his faith.
Words are indeed powerful and I pray God in heaven will honor your faith.
What Rohr didn’t achieve in 6 years Paseiro achieved in a shorter period. Rohr would tell you he was still building a team with his young players, and you never know his style of coaching. Even at the time he left, he was still building.
At Russia 2018 world cup march against Argentina, all we needed was a draw and instead of him to defend the score he brought an attacker to replace a defender.
Argentina quickly replied with a goal. What a coach!
This is Paseiro’s first competitive competition and you already know his style of play.
President Tinubu has changed his.mind and won’t be attending the AFCON final.
Fans of the SE, stop fighting g and start praying for our success. Thanks.
